He won't be functional for long if he keeps riding the wrong way on streets. He probably never realized it. Darwinism is real...it just takes too long....

I've been working on my step-son's Street Glide, and was absolutely gob-smacked to discover the stupid thing has a rubber mounted swingarm! That's got to seriously contribute to the cudgel sharp handling these bikes are known for.

Rubber mounted swingarm for cryin' out loud.

    "Oh, the humanity."

He experienced the "Harley Death Wobble", which I knew nothing about but is certainly enlightening when it happens to you. Going around a corner at speed, for a Harley anyway, hit a bump and the bike developed a hinge in the middle and tried to swap ends. He stayed upright, but he said it scared the hell out of him, so we pulled it apart to check out the suspension/swingarm. Which had developed some lateral movement due to, I believe, the rubber components getting old/perished.

In the meantime he's riding my FJ1200, which may explain why he was trying to take corners at speed on his Harley: he just got used to a bike that turns. LOL

Uhhuh! Which is also why, I guess, HD don't release horsepower figures for their engines.

Though I found some data, it's from the EPA. An 2017 Milwaukee Eight, 1868cc engine produces 100 hp...

Not something to love about HD. Hehe! :potstir:

There must be a shitload of harleydoods taking rides on real bikes Maybe that's why so many Harleys are for sale. Harley or at least Harley said a few years back that they had run out of bikes. This started a craze that the harleydoods somehow equated with a run of good wine. So they jacked up the prices for any POS bearing the bar and shield. Ahhh the true believers..

HP is not always measured by measurers in the right place. The actual figures come from the bean counters. A figure that floats around is the 74ci engine is around 50hp.

OMG has Harley gone metric? This may call for HD to start selling Tshirts with big question marks on the front and equivalents on the back.

I'll bet that Harley has already started to feel the effects of a brilliant marketing campaign that was designed for Boomers with deep pockets. The should has a similar effect on a depression of the Harley used bike market. We a running out of people with disposable income.
