Nice photos, Rusty. Wish the weather was that nice here. It was yesterday but I had to watch my kids. I was going to go today but it's barely above freezing and raining.

Temps in the 80's here in Kansas. Kids had a good day at play, got cleaned up and are both sound asleep in the garage....

 

I think we should just move to Kansas Jeff. Might get a little localized wind on occasion but sure sounds nicer than the winters we get.
As far as the chopped windshield goes, I would think that you would get more wind but maybe less buffeting. Be interesting to find out, I have my old stock screen that would be "choppable"...

 

Hell yes! I'd move there in a heartbeat. I'm already going through withdrawal and they're already saying this winter is going to brutally cold.

As for the windscreen, the amount of touring I do, I need the protection of my MRA Vario Touring screen. I couldn't imagine doing the miles I put on without it. That wind takes its toll on you over distances.

 

I would like to try the touring screen, I can't believe the difference it made getting a new helmet this year that actually fits!

I will certainly let you know. I'm heading out to St. Johns for a couple of days next week, wrong way though.

Just had a big Quake in Kansas! Getting texts from friends in Oklahoma, Texas Nebraska and Missouri.

Update - This one is being reported as a 5.3, centered in Cushing Oklahoma

 

Ouch. I was there for that last 5.3 ... my first quake ever.
