    Nice selfies Jeff!

I just got back from 300km on the VFR1100ST. A balmy 20C but a bit windy with the odd shower.

Actually the picture was taken in the Waikato, Glen Murray Rd, just off SH22. Maybe I'm just tougher than you??? :drunk:

(The weight of the VFR1100ST makes it much less susceptible to wind, and I managed to dodge around most of the showers.). The VFR800 might get a run tomorrow if it is lucky.

You make a good point OOTV. Actually the deciding factor of whether I get a ride in is more likely what my significant other decides I need to do tomorrow. It is nice to have stable of bikes to choose from, to match the mood. I'm also looking forward to getting my rowdy VTR re-registered for road use, we get stung to the tune of $580/annum for the privilege of riding an over 600cc bike, so I have had that one on hold for 6 months over winter.

You call that being stung. I have my renwal papers sitting in front of me. I have to come up with $1325.00 by November 13. Thank God for the availability of financing.

    Ouch, that is steep Randy.

What makes the local system irksome is that I pay about 3x for a bike than for a car; the justification is that as a motorcyclist I am more likely to become a medical burden on the state. That is the flip side of our free national health and no fault accident compensation scheme.

Dang, that's outrageous. Michigan adds a fee for 250cc and up, but still, with 2 bikes I'm at half what you are being gouged.
The insurance for Michigan (no fault) car insurance is crazy though... When we had 2 new drivers and 4 cars we were shelling out $6K/year.

    Hmmm....

I wonder if there is a definition available for "Cold".
If you poll some people, that'd be anything under 60 degrees.
There'd be less argument over what constitutes "Foggy", but still a bit of a judgement call.

    Interesting.

Was thinking of 2-wheeling a bit today, and going longer tomorrow. The photos just posted here have me Jonesing for a ride.

But yesterday I tweaked my back. Tough to get out of bed this morning. I don't want to take any chances with the back, sometimes recovery from a strain takes a while. Dangit.

The ride today didn't help my mood much, but it did allow me to gain some clarity and perspective....

I am residing down Just past Karapiro at the moment and we had just over 35mm of rain yesterday And I still went for a ride It takes a bit more than rain to keep me off the road ...... Brass monkey attendee many times :smow:

Not riding in the rain is a sure fire way to never actually ride your bike living in the land of the long white cloud :rain:

We should make a day to catch up somewhere for a coffee / burger / Beer sometime soon

    Cheers

Dabnabbit, I hope your back behaves soon. When you get out to ride, photos!!

Yeah, cold is definitely opinion. I can handle dry cold. But wet and 48 degrees, well, I can handle that too...nut it's definitely less desirable. Lolzzz
