    Hi,

New to forum. Looking to buy a 2007 VFR800 Anniversary Edition. Have a line on one I will be looking at tomorrow.

I'm 64 and have been into motorcycles my entire life. Had a long hiatus when I raised 4 children.

Been riding again for about 5 years. I own 10 bikes right now. Down from 14 at the beginning of this year.

I'm looking at the VFR to replace a 919 that I sold because it was just too torquey for me. Hoping the VFR will be a little less crazy. I found the 919 wanted to lift off the ground with the slightest throttle. Loved the bike but not 20 years old so being airborne freaked me out a bit.

Thanks for the add to the forum.

    Welcome to the forums!!!

I'm about six and a half hours due north of you in Friendly Manitoba. I quite frequently go through the Twin Cities as I have a lot of friends there.

If I'm ever down that way I'll be sure to look you up. If you need a hand with anything, let me know, I own a 6th gen as well.

Hi and welcome to the crazy house of vfr owners.. Wow that's a bike resume if ever i saw one. 919 for a VFR huh, Hmm.. well the VFR has more torgue, but it's so linear you shouldn't have any trouble. Not so much a step down performance wise, but a slight up wards side step. VFRs are so multi tasking. I think you'll like em, though a tad porkier over the 919, which makes it a tad less nibble. Interesting your take, I found the 919 to be a great UJM. But there's no getting around the power delivery of the V4, its awesome. Now had you be looking at a 5th gen, it's even another step up. ;) BY the way 64 ain't nothing here ;)

Thanks Jeff. I'm pretty handy with a wrench myself. I built a shop for my retirement amusement. I am restoring bikes there to keep me busy. I will post some pics in a bit. Come see me if your down this way...although soon we won't be moving around much if you know what I mean.

Don't get me wrong I loved the 919. It was just a little to quick to hop in the air for me. Shifting over a crown in the road and rolling on the throttle would lift the front wheel. The light weight and high torque got me into trouble a few times. I'm hoping the extra weight of the VFR will be a little tamer. Plus this 25th Anniversary bike has really caught my eye.

The reason Manitobans are friendly are because their Provincial beverage is produced in Gimli and is regularly consumed. Crown and cola. Everyone is drunk.

Welcome to the house of instability and sideways sanity.

Yeah we do to, not my thing though. I trudge thru the snow on foot.

For two miles each way. Twice a day. Up hill both ways. And in bare feet. Just a minute now. Maybe that is people from Brandon Manitoba.

Set on the RWB version, eh?
That's ok, I snagged the best Yellow Gen5 in your area in May this year.

While you'r posting photos, include a couple of the shop where you do the serious tinkering.
That way I can offer them as examples for a friend who is just entering the construction phase.

Welcome to Club VFR, hope you find the bike you're looking for!
