    SITREP:

Just picked up the VFR. The visual damage - jimmied ignition and clipped ignition wires, blown main fuse, missing the windscreen, left mirror broken off, missing one fairing mount cap screw. NO COSMETIC DAMAGE WHATSOEVER! YAY!!!

We'll figure out if there is other damage that isn't obvious, like fried electronics.

Might have just stole it to use for drug delivery or joy ride. Dad once had suburban stolen and it was found in a ditch out in the country few days/week later. Not a scratch on it and not even dirty. Sheriff said it was probably used for drug delivery. Glad to hear the damage so far does not sound too bad. Hopefully, everything else okay too.

My brother had his Norton 750 Commando stolen many years ago. Early 70's. He got it back. A short time later he blew his crank. He ended up paying for the repairs. I don[t know the specifics, but I think he was unable to prove the theft had anything to do with the blown crank. And maybe that was just coincidence. So look closely for signs of recent abuse. That was not your doing. :target::lol::bolt:

    Food for thought.

There are just so many videos out there showing how stupid criminals can be. A good way to find entertainment for a few hours from time to time.

Great News. I think all has been said previously. My the bike be sound and the insurance be helpful and painless. I have never had a bike stolen but I have had friends that did. 2 of them and the outcome was not the same as yours. I never got it back and the other one did get it recovered as a "totaled" bike and the insurance company did try to f...k with him on the value. Get her home and take care.

Sharing an insurer that has not increased rates in 30 years would sure be helpful to most here except for Washington State where MC insurance is not required. Speeding tickets can be written by rookie or psycho cops for literally one mile over the posted limit. ie 26 in a 25..100mph in a 70 in Oregon is instant graybar hotel time and the vehicle goes too.

Thankee Jesus for courts of law..

Me Ford Explorer was totaled. The other guy ran a boulevard. Impact speed was less than 25mph. I got more as a payment that the Explorer booked for. My insurer didn't pay. The other guy's did. A call to your agent will clarify the particulars.

I bought the Explorer back for 300 pesos. Sold the wheels and almost brand new tires and the Cleveland then gave the rest to a wrecker for a credit document.

So when talking insurers, the first order of business in a wreck is who is at fault.

My insurer is State Farm. I hate the whole insurance industry for various reasons, but since we have to have it, they have a record of treating me well and I have a record of staying with them for that reason. In general, I'm not a brand loyal person.

200 pesos cash for any of your bikes except the R1200.

I recently talked to a State Farm rep who was going to "save" me some pesos on my car and homeowners policies. I stopped adding numbers when she hit 200 pesos above what I am currently paying. She is gone.. Way too many State Farm reps in my area..

Services are variable with the agent or rep. Had three agents with my insurer over the years..Guy#1 was a Mormon with a law degree. Guy #2 was a bike dude who is now in VietNam teaching English. Guy #3 somehow has got the idea if I have a question by Email his right hand person is who writes back. This is aboot to change..

If they tried to part it out, they would still be trying to figure out how to get the carbs off. Haha
I am glad you got it back. Next time, stay on the ground floor and park the bike in the room.

I think a lot of thefts occur at motels and it is the late night receptionist who tips off the thieves.
