I was thinking the same thing but I still entered the contest - you can too until July '17 - lol - here's the link: https://www.yamahamotorsports.com/supersport/campaign/r1surbansweepstakes
The coolest thing was how the little Yamaha tuning fork badges on the side of the tank were lit up - not sure if it shows up well in the pic though - here's a slightly bigger one:

The reason is to get you to go buy aftermarket immediately. Emissions can't be the case because I see many bikes out there without a mini fridge hanging off the side.

I think you can still see the build quality on the Honda, especially if you compare it to the KTM and Aprilia. Can't say the same about the other Japanese bikes though, they look like dog sh*&.

Cool - looks like you did the ATV trail? That looked like a lot of fun - wish I had tried that out - what did you get to ride? I tested the R3, Hayabusa, and S1000RR :glee:

    Yes, went dirty....

Rode a Suzuki ATV... "King" something, and a BRP side by side; Both were fun. The Yamaha line was to long and it was getting late. We had a great time overall

We had a local Yamaha event earlier this year: I rode the R6 and the Super Tenn

I have been looking at the 690 and the 500 for dual sport. I have a well sorted DR 650 but I am intrigued by lighter weight and more power. But the cost is much more.

I have not rode one but know several people that have had them and tracked them. Yes they have heaps of HP but you have to wind it up a bit to use it. Loads of electronics, perhaps more than most mortals need. LDH who is on here but does not post here a lot has done a lot of R&D with them in years past. ,They can be quite capable set up properly. That being said he (who did extensive development on the CBR platforms) settled on the Kawi ZX 10. He has done a lot of work on it, (he is an Ohlins dealer and Brembo ect) and said it is the nicest bike he has ever built. He tracks it a lot at various California tracks. I don't think he had 10 miles on it before it was completely disassembled, painted and put back together with the bits he wanted. It has a beautiful full Arata system on it, huge Brembo's and more.

I don't recall - they had a lot of bikes on display but no female reps so I didn't spend much time there - lol. I did take a pic of this sexy RC390 and the SuperDuke that I posted above.

There is a lot of those KTM 390s running around here as well at the track. at one event they had set up a 390 outing, talk about a hoot.

That isn't the reason, but I understand your frustration.

I second this. I'm smitten. I liked the Ducatis until the S1000RR. With the exception the 959, I liked that bike too. But the S1000RR felt like it was a bespoke motorcycle. That and it's fucking ferociously fast. Yet, somehow not terrifying.

I think I would take a RSV4 before the BMW. Just doing laps with a full system on a true V4 race motor would be intoxicating. And to me it is the prettiest bike out there.
