Try and ride mine all year round if the weather permits. Biggest problem is the blooming deer, if it wasn't for them in the dark I would use bike all the time except when it gets into the negative numbers.

Good tip is not to keep it on the trickle charger all the time. Despite what charger manufacturers say in their blurbs . I have seen a few dead batteries due to being left continuously on charge.

Best way charge it overnight then take off for a week then charge again so on .

    Winterizing SoCal style.

    Pull into driveway.
    Open garage door.
    Put bike in garage.
    Close garage door.

The VFR is never put down here on the subtropical North Coast of NSW. It's high rainfall here so I keep an eye on daily weather forecasts.

Win-ter-ize.....? Does that have something to do with that month of two where you might have to roll the bike inside for a few days in case it's cold and rainy....or does it have to do with those two or three days a year where the backroad might be slick and slushy......

I guess it's been too long since I have lived up near the old Mason Dixon line I can't remember the last time I winterized anything, even in the mountains of WV there usually was only a two month spell where it was too cold and nasty to ride a street bike unless you run 60/40 enduro tires and used heavy layered gear.

As I get a few years on me, I miss winter less and less

Duc just put the bike on the centerstand, cover and forget about it from end of Nov to end of April. You might get a day here or there to ride depending on global warming. Been doing this for 35+ years and no flat spot on front tire ever. Just make sure you have anti freeze in the cooling system if your garage gets cold enough to freeze a glass of water. Otherwise don't bother.

Never, as I'm fortunate to live in an area where I can ride year round.

Last ride for the LC today. The RD is easy to put away, gas stabilizer and lube chain and she's ready to sleep until spring. Ahhh Spring... IMG_1112.jpg

    Winter both sucks and blows.
That is one of the main attractions here.
Winter and the white crap stay up in the mountains where it belongs.
I grew up shoveling it, and will never go back to winter. :snowman:

First time we get serious salting the bikes go away with a full tank of non ethanol fuel and seafoam mixture. ACF-50 for the bits that can rust as I dont heat the garage for the winter. Sometimes I am riding into December but i never recall riding anytime after Christmas. Did a few hundred miles this weekend. That 1200F is still hungry for speed.

Nic what's this act-50 you speak of-- I know it's a spray but where do you sprayed onto for the rust prevention bits?
Being from Cali and moving to Colorado in a few--- this will be new and torture at the same time.
    Lord help me
