And now for something completely different

The Scarborough Gold Cup meeting at the Oliver's Mount circuit held a couple of weeks ago

The circuit is narrow even by our standards but the short back straight allows the Superbikes to reach 170

Not the best bit of video but the 2 strokes should please a few people, count how many Hondas are out during the parade laps, Giacomo Agostini rode one of his MV's and there were more plus the Heron Suzukis, etc

Pedro out with a broken collarbone. Ouch. JL fastest in FP2.

OUCH! Did you see his "launch"?! It's no wonder he has a broken collar bone. It really got thrown off the bike and his landing was really hard. It was odd, just as MM had one of his almost crashed moments, others started to have actual crashes. Dani was one of the first. It seems that if it wasn't for bad luck, Dani wouldn't have any luck at all. Dovi on the other hand is looking good. Maybe he'll be the next winner?! Although JL is looking strong now too. I'd much rather see Dovi at the top step of the podium. I have a feeling the top three, sans any DNFs, will be AD, JL, MM but not necessarily in that order...

Japan is notorious for being really hard on the brakes. There is a mandatory 340mm disc for it. I remember seeing close ups of Ben Spies bike at Motegi in daylight where you could see his disks glowing red.

I'll look up the high side video. Was it as big as JL's in Laguna years ago? That has to be the highest high side I have ever seen.

Yeah, both the MotoGP and Moto2 had some last minute surprises. Zarco just beat out Luthi for top honors and got pole record for Motegi, 1:49.961. That's his second one for this track.

This year definitely made up for all of the dramedy of last year. This year actually had a few history making events too. Can't sleep at the moment, too amped up, so having Guinness to celebrate and hopefully help me sleep!

I really hoped Rossi could have pulled out the victory and somehow win the championship. Maybe next year.
