My iPhone 5S is not compatible with the new operating system and I never have liked the screen size. Both iPhone 7's have larger screens.

Anyone here have one and what are your opinions of it? I HATE changing phones but this BS has to stop.

Like Chris Rock says in Lethal Weapon 4: "They f-ck you with the cell phones, they f-ck you with the cell phones". They're just necessary today.

So, would like some opinions before I do something. Thanks!

As an Apple stockholder I am a little biased, I upgraded from the 5s to the 6s earlier this year and have no problems and the performance has been great. iPhones have been getting better and better with each upgrade, but they are so good that the differences are getting less and less. Based on your budget, you couldn't go wrong with the current deals from Apple on the 6s, on the other hand, if your budget will allow it, go for the 7. Remember, the iOS is a major part of either phone and is virtually the same on both.

Since I use my phone for business purposes, I get to write off the phone purchase. Typically my business partner is the one who dictates what we get and/or upgrade to, he's our CTO. That being said I just upgraded to the iPhone 7 and although it has some features and improvements, there are a few things I've had issues with. These would of course be 1st world problems!

1). No 3.5mm headphone jack. To use standard headphones, you need to use the Lighting to 3.5mm adapter. Not an issue per se but it does mean that if you forget or loose the adapter and don't have the Lighting jack headphones, you can't use standard headphones.

2). The "home" button isn't a traditional button but a sensor, meaning it has to sense your "touch". This means that you have to have some sort of touch screen capable glove or stylus device to use the button. An issue only with gloves on but it bothers me a little.

3). I have had a few issues with my Cardo/Bluetooth devices. For some reason, even though my phone and comm systems are connected, I cannot always hear what the phone is playing. On several occasions I could not get my turn by turn directions to play through the comm systems. I never had this problem with any of the other previous iPhone models. There was an update to the iOS that addressed Bluetooth issues but it did not cure this problem. From time to time I still have issues with this and sometimes I can't get it to work at all!

Other than these minor gripes, the phone appears to be as good if not better in other areas and can say that if my Bluetooth problem wasn't so intermittent I'd be really happy, even with the other two "issues".

Apple must make a lot of money by just changing its power connectors and now new headphones and adapters. My 6 has been pretty much rock solid.

I have an IPhone 6 and it works well. Screen is a bit small for my aging eyes so I am now looking at a Galaxy S7 edge. the IPhone 7 plus is $1500 in Australia and can get the edge for $1100 for the Aussie version or $800 for the grey import.

Dealing with apple is a lot like dealing with Louisiana hillbillies if you are a canoeist.

Our company gives us I Phones so that is what I use. But the IT guys and tech guys all have Android phones and will expound profusely about the virtues of them over Apple. But you really have to know what your doing and the Apple is easy to use.

Isn't Samsung having such problems with their S7 and even its replacement that it is actually crippling Samsung's stocks right now? provider has and offer on the table right now to allow a free upgraded phone well ahead of the contracts end date that I may take advantage of. But not if they are offering this Samsung S7.

Maybe they are offering an IPhone. I've never used and IPhone or mac as yet. Might be a bit of a learning curve. Definitely won't get the latest one with that silly ear piece thing. I blue tooth my phone through my hearing aids. Then again, maybe it can do this too/ Except I can't wear hearing aids with my helmet so use ear buds. Those Iphone7 things will be bothersome in the helmet

The note 7 is the spontaneous combustion model. The galaxy 7 has no similar problems that have been reported.

Thanks for clearing that. Bad information is the worst information.

I don't have a problem loosing the 3.5mm jack. When I got into the retail audio business in 1968, the 3.5mm jack was beginning to be used on some devices, but not for headphones. That started when Sony Walkmans & the first iPods. Time for it to go, it takes up way too much room inside the phone for a single purpose. I have seen new cases that have a splitter built in so that you can charge and use legacy headphones. The iPhone 7 comes with wired earbuds that use the lightning port.
Plus it is now water resistant!

Thanks guys. Very helpful. I need more 1st world problems. The good news is that, today, I don't have to do anything. I'll just go talk to the millennials that sell them and try to make some sense of it. Much more importantly, I have to go ride in this perfect Fall weather. OMG it's just too good to pass up. First things first.
