yeah, started cleaning out my entire old bike collection already in anticipation. I've been seriously looking at the new VFR but after looking at the Duc, I may be jumping ship. Haven't had a Ducati since my 1996 900ss. now that maintenance is a bit simpler with what looks like 12,000 mile (I think) valve intervals and optional bags, it's very tempting.

I've always thought the front end of my 14 VFR looked a bit Panigale.

What are they thinking putting that nice bike in a gay bar? Most of those dudes ride Harleys.

You know there's already a thread about this in the 'General VFR Discussions forum', titled "Italian VFR". I'm surprised you never saw it.

You really shouldn't peidgeonhole people like that. They don't choose to ride harleys, theyre just born that way.

I've owned 3 Ducs and 2 VFRs (including my 2014) - I'll take a V4 over a V-twin for sport touring every day of the week!

Ya know Ducati created the 916 off the lines of the NF750 that Honda didn't move forward with, 4th gen was just a poor version and at the time worked but?? So just maybe Ducati sees something in the current VFR being it's not in production now. IDK Food for tought

Ouch! Accusing the greatest motorcycle designer of all time, Massimo Tamburini, of copping a Honda design for his 916 masterpiece?! Blasphemy! :D

I'll take my red, reliable, quick, Honda any day over any Duc. Ducs are like Ferrari's. Look good, fast, and break any bank for maintenance and repairs on a manufacturer's recommended schedule. I'm just not that emotional. :pirate:

I've only had the one Duc but 4 VFRs. If you're talking vibration, I'd have to test ride the new Duc to see. I was younger when I was on my 900ss so can't say I remember clearly being bothered by the vibrations. But I'd bet they're a lot smoother now then they were in 96. Of course, back then, I went from DC to Durham NC then NYC in one day on a GSXR and thought it wasn't too bad.

Yep it's true. Honda didn't move forward on the design being available to the masses, Ducuti jumped on it. wala launched them into what they are today.

Ha - I had a '95 900 SS/SP. Lot of great things about that bike. Once road it 300 miles to Calabogie for a track day - I think my back is still sore :D
I then had an '05 749 and an '06 Monster S2R 800, which was the most refined of the 3. But still, the V4 engine is still more versatile, higher revving, and sounds so much better than a twin![IMG]

This is a shirt slogan I can see being popular among residents who live near some of the So Cal rider hang outs!
