That new Duc has to be a POS because it only comes in two colors.

The Florida bike scene is Great if you go to Miami Homestead international, Palm Beach international Raceway, Jennings, or Daytona, 4 excellent tracks.

As far as Honda goes every manufacturer has problems. But I'm not aware of CBR's having a lot of problems. They may not be the most electronically advanced but have great mid range very compliant bikes to have fun on.

Perhaps dragracing is where you might see the problems. They definitely are not the best for dragracing though I know several guys that do. I own Hondas, Suzuki, Yamaha. I have never been manufacture biased. Love me some Italian Ducati's, but definitely more expensive to buy, maintain, and some are definitely famous for doing the grenade.

That was awesome footage, thanks for sharing! Love those old bikes - anybody else watch the recent Harley and the Davidsons miniseries? Tons of beautiful vintage bikes. In Florida we also get to enjoy Bike Week plus Biketoberfest coming up soon in Daytona and the AIMExpo next weekend in Orlando which I'm looking forward to - I'm hoping Honda will bring a '17 1000RR for me to at least sit on and take some pics.

Several more examples from different years on Utube. HD dominates pro flattrack racing. HD also is responsible for the appearance of Class C racing for motorcycles that was in effect for horse racing.

HD does blow it big time on occasion.. Short version..

Dude sinks a ton of pesos into restoring an old HD. Rides it to "Daytona" for the harleydoodfest. About the same time, the "largest" HD dealership known opens in Daytona. Dude goes to this dealership to get the oil changed and they don't know how.

Gotta wonder if those bikes that ran on the sand were equipped with K&N filters..

Just under $15k with the Ohlins suspension. Honda would consider this SP.....Ducati...it's just the S.

After sifting through the popup ads for almost every other bike except Harleys, the bottom line for the CW blurb is that they ain't rode the damn thing yet. So it they ain't rode it, the figures are close to what the ad agency tosses out when figures like when gross weights are publicized and they don't tell ya that there's no water in battery, gas in the tank, coolant in the radiator or quite possibly oil in the engine.

The ever growing cadre of moto journalists scramble for the junkets to the exotic tracks to be first oot of the chute on a "new" bike. I think sometimes the factory boys choose the magazine dudes who write the copy, by how much they weigh. Another non-mentionable is how many hours of prep go into the factory bikes that the journalists are doing a couple of laps on?

Not always the case? Sure, but sometimes is sometimes. Are all the moto journalists painted with the same brush? Nope. Sometimes is still sometimes and enough so that that space between the lines and the fine print are overlooked in the race to be numero uno.

What I want to know is if the white one is the white that's a composite of all the colors in the visable spectrum or the absence of same.

For those who drive motorcycles, feel free to transpose.

Not that I know of. I did some SCCA work there a long time ago mounting cameras in cars. That has to be the roughest track in the country. It beats cars to death. At night the Sparks that fly look like the 4th of July. I would not want to track a bike there.

I like going to that race as a spectator but I don't think I've been there in about 5 years - I had forgotten how bumpy it is. It's also a bit in the middle of nowhere.

Did you go there in the "old days"? There were all sorts of debauchery going on in the infield.

I always went with my family - so no debauchery for me unfortunately -lol

Speaking of MaryAnne! I heard a radio ad this afternoon for an upcoming appearance by Dawn Wells, aka MaryAnne, on the noon sailing for a casino cruise out of Port Canaveral on October 23rd - instead of a 3 hour tour it's 6 hours - lol. Now I just gotta convince Mrs. GG to do it with me. :biggrin-new:
She will also be at a charity run that morning in Cocoa Beach.
Links for more info in case anyone cares - lol:

When I saw Batman vs. Superman, I thought I spotted an 8th gen VFR but was saddened when it turned out to be only the new Panigale (the SS's more agressive sibling): :frown-new:
