We met up at the "Iron Skillet" in Sedro Wolley (Randy's choice) which was excellent. Ample tasty breakfast grub at a decent price. From there we headed down Hwy 9. I thought these guys were confused but they knew the way to one of my favorite roads along the Skagit River. But I usually come into to it a little to the east. It's the same road in my vid which BB commented the sun between the trees was like a strobe light.

Jeff took the lead on his BMW and I followed Randy. I'd let Jeff lead any day. But it really sucks to be the last guy passing all the time.

We stopped at Diablo dam for pics and to stretch our legs. Then it was off to the overlook which I was glad these guys didn't mind stopping at. I hadn't taken in the views since I was a kid with my dad.

Of we went to Winthrop (not "Winthrope" Randy) for some beers and lunch. IPA's for the Canadistans and a Porter for me. Randy and I had the fish and chips and Jeff had a burger. Not cheep, but not much is in Winthrop.

We gassed up and on the return trip I decided to pass Jeff. Well this was fine for a few miles and then Jeff blew passed me. Randy and I didn't see him for at least 15 minutes. Thankfully he slowed down and became leader again.

With a parting handshake I said goodbye to my Canadian friends and headed back down 9 to home.

Hope to do it again someday.

Word has it that Randy tried to kiss you bye-bye. LOL

WA 20 is one of the great rides in the PNW. Another month and 20 will be shut down for the Winter.

Those bright and dark areas at speed can be dangerous. The eye as marvelous as it is, takes time to catch up to the changes.

Usually loaded all year in Winthrop is the Ducks Breath Café.. Good place to eat. They cater to skiers in the Winter and don't skinch on the food or the quality.

My route from the greater Seattle area was Arlington to Darrington to Concrete then over to Winthop and beyond..

Ya. we shall do so again Rob. Tried to let you ride second but you kept waving me through. Jeff (Chomper) is a hard one to keep up with for sure. His riding talents are far superior to mine.

When getting ready to head out for this trip I was hedging if I needed warmer gear. Being on the safe side, I wore my winters. I am sure glad I did. It was qute cool up at the summit of that pass.

We have ridden that road several times. Took my wife that way a few times with the fifth wheel. I think she just stares at the road in front of us when we drive through the mountains with that rig and she misses all the beautiful scenery Washington and BC has to offer. I wonder if my driving may scare her. I don't drag the knee anymore in the truck.

I was joking about passing last Randy. I don't mind hanging back. It helps in learning how other people ride and how to ride with them. Especially since I don't have comms.

Ya! Well shuddup!. Jeff and I were having a laugh talking about Rob. Then again. Who knows? We may have pissed ourselves if we knew he was hearing us.
