Hey just wanted to wish Jay all the luck with his shoulder operation Thursday--- heal fast bud. Instead of pain killers I found after my surgery scotch or tequila do a much better job.
I kid--- or not---don't wear out the couch cushion to much.

Hey J. Is this still from your crash from several years ago now? Heal up really well my friend. At out age, that is sometimes easier said than done. Wished I was closer at hand to help out with the chores.

No Randy, but then maybe. ;) I use my body for all sorts of things, no desk job here, with work and play etc.. you fill in the blanks. All though the opps back in 99 probably played a big part as that broke and had to have a SS plate on the clavicle. The thoughts then was how would the rotator cuff hold up. Playing a lot of baseball from way back, then golf, then all the working on vehicles and the like shows a lot of wear and tear ( no pun) on the shoulder, I'm sure the deer incident didn't help, but with that I landed on the other shoulder, but being thrown like a rag doll surely didn't help. But this injury happened when pulling a trencher out of the ditch, on a job site. snap pop torn ouch!! Thank guys for the well wishes trying not to think to much but on a positive out look.. lol just the 6-9 months being laid up will be the real test, that and the tug seeing the VFR just sitting there.

The painkillers (opoids) or booze? Don't fucking mix them!! Same with sedatives.

You'll heal up just fine. Think about all of the medical advances since 99! Just tell your Viffer that she gets a vacay because you had to go to the shop and your repairs take longer than hers. I know she'll understand and patiently wait.

Now, you can binge watch all of Netflix!

Been doing that for years and there is nothing wrong with me!

Jay. I have shoulder issues too from fighting with assholes and what not early in my career but they are being kept well in check. There are a few movements that make me cringe but this is not even close to making surgery an issue. Heal up fast Bud.

The physical therapy will likely require more pain killers. I've had both shoulders destroyed. Just take the pills and don't fight it because the pain will win. That's called free advice but with empathy pal.

Oxy is an opioid like Tylenol 3 and Tylenol 4. I have had all three for one injury or another. Seems the T3s are a substantial part of my daily diet for my back.

But what you say about eating before cannot be understated. It sure goes a long way prevent an upset stomach. But it also seems to me that food for some reason enhances the positive effects of the pain killer. I can't say that it actually does this or it is just my imagination playing with me. Then again, does that really matter? Pain gone. I'm good.

Forgot about showering with a cast on. Done that too with an arm and a leg. Arms wasn't too bad. Just placed arm in a plastic garbage bag and held it up in the air. Now the foot was a different story. Had to take a bath for about 6 weeks and hang my foot out of the tub. Fine and dandy but because it was my right foot, which would be against the wall of the tub, I had to sit in the tub the opposit end of usual. That wasn't a biggie either. But rapping my fuggen noggen on the faucette was.
