    Thanks Bloke! 4.961kg= 10.94 lbs.

Alright, so I crunched some numbers to figure out the overall hp gains from the Delk exhausts.

    To summarize:

14" carbon stubby oval gives Nelix an extra 3.37 hp. This consists of a 2.00 "real" hp gain from the freer flowing exhaust PLUS an additional 1.37 "virtual" hp gain from the lighter exhaust.

8" carbon mini round will give me an extra 4.55 hp. This consists of a 2.96 "real" hp gain plus an additional 1.59 "virtual" hp gain from the lighter exhaust.

    Note:
The "real" hp gains are according to the dyno charts at Delk's USA website.
To get the "virtual" hp gains from weight loss I used the formula at Tuner University
    ( http://www.tuneruniversity.com/blog/2012/03/power-to-weight-ratio/ ).
I used the following numbers in applying their formula:
    104 stock horsepower (per Honda)
529 lbs stock wet weight (per Honda)
10.94 lb stock exhaust weight (fatshoutybloke's measurement)
3.57 lb Delk stubby weight (per Delk)
3.09 lb Delk mini weight (per Delk)

Of course, there are many flaws to the idea and logic I used above to calculate the virtual hp gains from weight loss - one of which is that I don't think Delk includes the weight of the link pipe in their listed weights. I say this because the weights they list are the same no matter what bike you choose, even those that have link pipes that appear to be 2 to 3 times as long as the one for the Interceptor. But it's still fun to crunch some numbers while I wait for my exhaust to arrive LOL

Yep, and that's on top of the extra 50 to 100 "eargasmic" hp you gain from the killer sound - LOL

Mine arrived yesterday and installed tonight in 45 minutes (thanks to Nelix's post). Looks and sounds great, a bit deeper tone and about 30-40% louder than stock (with baffle removed). Just right in my book.[IMG]

That looks great 4corsa! BTW what kind of bike is that parked besides your VFR?

Here's a couple pics of my mini and a vid - Nelix your tutorial was extremely helpful, went right on without a hitch except I did need liberal amounts of WD40 as you suggested to get the connector pipe to slip on. Also, the Delk's brackets required a socket a little smaller than the 12mm that the stock exhaust used, I forget which exact size it needed. Anyway, I love this new exhaust so thanks again!

    Is the Guzzi in storage?

That's too bad. Being the good guy that I am, I'll let you park it at my house. I'll keep it in the garage, or in the basement next to the the others.

But leave the key, of course.....

Ha ha - thanks guys. I literally finished building a 10x12 shed last weekend and moved both bikes into it - no more storage unit!

Just had my 9" Delkevic (DS70 / KIT03AS) installed the other day and for once I have to say, the only problem I have with it is it's a bit too loud lol! Tried it with and without the baffle (didn't make much of a difference). Only noticeable at idle and lower speeds around town (highway speeds are no issue :). That's what I get for trying to display the rear wheel as much as possible lol! If I were to do it again, I would go the next size longer for sure. Otherwise it does everything that I had expected it to do and for a great price (and it works great with the OEM panniers)!

LOL - yeah it's pretty damn loud - I tried to warn you guys in my earlier vid! (see below). Interesting that you say the baffle didn't make much difference - I still haven't tried mine with the baffle because I absolutely love the Conan the Barbarian sounds it makes without the baffle :glee: I think I probably have the loudest sportbike in my area - only thing louder I've heard are a couple of obscenely loud Harleys that sound like they have no muffler at all. My bike is not a daily driver - I just use it to cruise around and weekend blasts/errand runs - I only take it to work maybe once every 2 weeks so I can get away with a super loud exhaust. If it were a daily driver I agree it would make more sense to get one of the longer versions.

The baffle may have reduced the sound by apx. 5db's...Sounds great, dont get me wrong..but maybe a bit much for the average VFR owner / rider lol!

Well, I did post this picture somewhere else, but my taste was defiantly with the shorter 8" stubby and larger opening and the stainless. I chose to keep the baffle in. It still sounds killer and not overly loud like a '93 Honda civic spewing smoke due to shot piston rings and an overly large can with no horsepower. No vid on sound, but I still have neighbors and I can be very happy with the look and sound of my Kev. Gator and I talked, and I consulted him on baffle in or out. he uses his bike less as a commuter and I plan on using mine everyday as a commuter and everything else. Police in Utah like to give tickets to "Crouch Rockets or perceived as such with any bike with full body work. They give no or little attention to Harley straight pipes unless excessive and not in a group. Happy as shit and love to here that burble!
