suspension

    Hi.

    Is there a rear shock I can put on my 5th Gen to allow it carry more weight? I know you can buy uprated shocks but there's loads out there I don't know where to start. any advice is great apart from lose weight lol

    If you have already just about maxxed out your preload, you really should look at getting an aftermarket spring with a stiffer spring rate. Replacing or upgrading your suspension is one of the best things that you can do to your bike. A properly sprung bike is not only better handling, it is safer for you to ride as well.

    Check out this race tech link. You can determine the spring rate you need as well. If your shock and fork is really beat, you may want to consider spending them away to Jamie Daugherty for a upgrade.

    Carry more weight huh? Have you read the owners manual? Pretty sure there's a maximum weight limit, could have sworn I spotted it once IIRC 350lbs, With that I bet Honda has it where the stock spring, if not worn out, would be the ticket, just saying, VFRs aren't trucks ;) talk to Jamie at http://www.daughertymotorsports.com/ He would be my go to guy on this.
