This thing looks like a blender sitting on my scale lol, can't wait to get it installed hopefully later tonight or tomorrow. I took some pics showing the weight of just the can (with baffle), as well as the can with the connector pipe and hanger thrown on as well (in both ounces and grams). I'm pretty impressed that it weighs under 4 pounds complete with all the pipes and hangers, and at first inspection it seems to be of a fairly high quality, especially considering it's $239 price point.

Here are the weights I got:

can (with baffle), connector pipe and hanger = 63.375 oz or 1,796.7 g
just the can (with baffle) = 43.050 oz or 1,220.5 g

I'll post more pics and a video sound clip later.

    Weigh the stock muffler, please.

I like the looks of that can. It looks loud, but you have a cat, so that will help.

Mine weighed 10lbs. The Pipe Werx GP3 I installed was 5lbs.

Maybe it's just me or the soundclips, but all of the latest available exhausts for the VFR 800 sound scratchy, raspy or tinny compared to the older Leo's, TB's, and Arrows. No soul. I prefer the older dual exhaust sound, much more throaty than what I've been hearing lately. It would be great to see them bring back a dual exit low pipe for these bikes.

Wow, that whole assembly weighs less than 4 pounds!

I have a Two Bro's on my 5th gen with a Delkevic header and it sounds wicked. Deep, throaty, with a hint of metallic ring. EVERYONE looks when I ride by. Maybe they hate me cuz it's too loud... ;-)

The part that cracks me up is when I ride past the Harley dealer and all of them look up from their bikes or looking at new bikes and watch me ride by. Sounds like a freaking bad ass V8. I know part of this is because the 98-99 didn't have a catalytic converter, so without one, it has a more open sound.

This is what I'm hoping for - there are lots of old guys on their super loud Harleys running around my neighborhood so I wanted the loudest most obnoxious exhaust I could get - lol.

Where is the cat on the 8th gens? Is it part of what I'll be removing to install the Delk or is it more upstream?

The cat is that big box just upstream of where you removed the stock clamp/pipe and where you'll be clamping the new pipe.

Sincerely, help me out here. I like quiet bikes meaning I would rather hear the engine than the exhaust. BUT, if there is a noticeable & significant performance improvement from a slip on, I will buy. I did a slip on when I owned a BMW 1200 K bike and it was a truly dramatic improvement as well as a weight improvement that had the affect of added HP and better handling. I'm not hearing about that on VFR (Interceptor?) slip on's for the 8th gen.

Is there a slip on that does any more than change the sound and make the rear nice looking 8th gen. wheel more visible? If not, I'm not a customer. Thanks!

I have an 01, Gen5, with a Delkevic header, and a 17 inch carbon fiber can. I have no cat, of course.

    It makes very good power.

But, I was hoping for a little more volume. With basically, an open header, and a glorified straight pipe for a muffler, it's still a bit too quiet. It sounds good. No tin or rasp. I may have to pop for a Delkevid sometime.

    Delkevic seems to good stuff.

So I put the stock exhaust on the same scale and it said it was overloaded - lol. So I put it on my human scale and it said it weighed 10.8 lbs. I also removed the baffle from the Delkevic and weighed the baffle - it weighed 115.3 g or 4.05 oz which is just over a quarter pound. Therefore, the overall weight of the Delkevic including the hangers, brackets, and connector pipe comes in at just under 3.75 pounds when the baffle is removed, which means my bike has lost just over 7 pounds!

Tossing the ugly stock header (G5), saved 4.2 pounds.

Your carbon fiber shorty saved 7.

I took off the curb feelers, left peg weight, reflectors, and the metal "triangle", which saved over 1 pound.

A Shorai battery would save another 5 pounds, at least.

That adds up to 17 pounds.
