I just cleaned my chain on the 8th gen. squeaky clean and put this Dupont with Teflon spray chain lube on the chain.

    https://www.amazon.com/DuPont-Chain...52&sr=8-1&keywords=motorcycle+chain+lubricant

It goes on very thin. Directions and common sense say "let it dry" before riding. It goes on really thin and does leave a seemingly thin waxy coat on the chain.

It's so thin, I wondered if this is anyones favorite "all the time" chain lube and how well it works.

If it gets a lot of good reviews here good. The "other' waxy lubes work but sure do attract grime and grit quick. Thanks. ; )

Used to use PJ1. It worked fine. Got lots of life out of my chain but my oath, what a guddam mess on the wheel. Switched to the Dupont Degreaser to clean the chain if it got dirty and followed up with their Chain Saver and have never looked back. Still get relatively the same chain life out of my chain and sprockets. Been using it for several years now and no more of that filthy ugly goopy fling on the rear wheel.

Its in a yellow can correct? I buy it at wallmart, excellent product as it goes on like you said, does not attract sand/dirt (important down here with all the sand) used to use Bellray chain lube, it went on white and attracted crap. :peace:

Yep, have used it, it's ok. for some reason it's kinda hard to find on the shelf here. I also used it in the work I do, then thought I'll try it on the bike, that was like 8-10 years ago at the least, since then I've been using this lub.

The Dupont cleaner followed by the Dupont lube is a good combo. There was a thread on the two sometime back that was informative.

...and we all know JB will have something better.. LOL

I have switched solely to this. Used several others but like this the most. I am actually using the old formula of Multi-use teflon spray that is the old dry wax formula. They now have a new formulation (no longer dry wax) but their website says to switch over to the chain saver for the dry wax formulation for chains. Basically the same thing I am using. Much cleaner and works excellent. I can actually tell and hear when it is time to lube chain some more. I make sure I give it quick squirts about every 300 miles or so. Let it dry and off we go riding.

I have not used the chain cleaner yet but going to try. Was just reading about it on DuPont website few days ago.

I've tried the DuPont stuff myself and didn't like it. I do really like the Tirox chain cleaner and lubricant products

In a recent study, it was shown that five oot of seven gay Canadian motorcyclists were using the Tirox brush on each other.

Thank you for the heads up on that. My bike isn't gay and I'm not in Canada, so that's a relief!!:glee:

I've used the DuPont Teflon Spray for several bikes over the past few years.
A Yamaha FZ1, a BMW 650 GS, and now the VFR.
I Got approximately 25,000 miles on Yamaha, and sold the BMW with 17,000. The VFR IS NEW.
VERY HAPPY! No issues and clean looking. Very little chain stretch.

Things can get down right perky in the winters here. Female things. Male things not so much.
