This works on 8th gen and should probably work on any Honda with the bat wing style rear passenger grips with locking passenger seat (but maybe not the 6th gen cuz of the underseat exhaust?)

The 6 Gen has helmet locks built in under the seat but it's meant for 'D' ring chin straps. I'd be surprised if the 8 Gen didn't have the same setup as well. This method however, would be great for helmets that have the ratchet style chin straps as this type of strap doesn't work with the built in helmet lock.

Yes, the 8th gen also has helmet holders under the rear seat - there's one on each side just behind the rearmost grab handle bolts. But there's only one "helmet set wire" in the tool kit, so my technique is useful for attaching two helmets. I suppose it would be just as easy to buy a second helmet set wire if you wanted to attach a 2nd helmet to the other side.

However, the method in my vid also runs the cable around the helmets' chin guards, which is arguably more secure than just running it through the D rings because I've heard that there are some unscrupulous folks that will steal a helmet by simply cutting the chin strap, something that a common pocket knife could do. I'm not sure how much value a helmet with no working chin strap has but if I can believe what I read on the internet it happens. Plus as you pointed out my method will work with helmets that don't have D rings.

That's weird, it's on page 42 of mine - hard to believe the American manual is less wordy than yours given our litigious society :smile-new:

Yes, heated grips are mentioned on several pages but they are primarily discussed on pages 37-38. My 2014 USA manual has a total of 149 numbered pages - so I guess ours is more wordy :)
