Seeing as this is mainly a US site I was wondering if any of you may be able to help out? New poster ( based in US) on another forum UK based) has asked about a front dump slip on for his bike. Can anyone shed any light on the subject or better still help provide a link for your fellow countryman? Cos we aint got a clue. We have ideas but are not sure of your terminology.:topsy_turvy:
Knowing the context in ho the phrase was used may help. Was he answering a question posted or describing and issue? I have never heard anything like that but we should be able to figure that one out. How about going back to that original poster and ask him what he meant?
Could he have meant front axle sliders? Red arrow. Or possibly frame sliders/fairing protectors? Yellow arrow. Or maybe bar end sliders. Green arrow.
or all of the above. Stosh may be on to something here, as I re read it, dump = opps as in fell /fall over. Slip = protector? IDK
I was trying to analyze this a bit and came up with the same possibility. Then got a headache. Think Stosh may be on the right path. Good thing he can still find his way here from time to time.
Thanks for your comments muchly appreciated. Here is the initial question (this is his first post) Front Dump Slip On? Has anyone seen an affordable front Dump Slip on or made one? Just thinking out loud about my E. Or used the Yoshimura header and made their own Slip On? Some replies This side of the pond we say Hi in the newbies section. What's a front dump slip-on... Sounds like an accident I may have , the morning after... just googled "motorcycle front dump slip on" god knows what it means ???? https://www.google.co.uk/#q=motorcycle+front+Dump+Slip+on http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=front dump (This has to be the best one LOL) This is the spit the dummy reply from original poster over a week later. I'm so sorry for being a newbie, I must apologize, and I admit I didn't read every single post on this site before I made a post myself. I guess you "Chaps" think every question has already been asked that is humanly possible? I'd say if you don't want to answer a question, then don't, if you've got a problem then Bug off. At my age I really don't give a Rats for folks who insist on Hazing the new guy. (He seems to take great offence to what was posted above for some strange reason. Can anyone shed some light on why? or is it just an American thing? most folk I know would have not even taken notice of the initial replies or had a laugh.) Eventually turns out this is what he was looking for to fit his 2000 bike. http://motowheels.com/i-20756555-te...slip-on-exhaust-ducati-899-959-1199-1299.html He certainly wasn't being hazed as he put it.
At first it sounded like the dude wanted to know how to do a suicide stoppie. When the haze lifted, we find not only this muffler costs a couple of thousand pesos but ya gotta send in the ECU to make it all work. I wonder if ya strap one on a Harley it sounds like a Ducati?
Hell of an attitude!! I think a lot of us spent time researching what you were asking for, an obscure item made for Ducati's, not Hondas. Maybe a few extra words on your part would have helped us not familiar with Ducati's mods.
Our OP's post was fine. It was his OP who asked the question who was being the damned idot, thinking he was being hazed based on ligit comments asking what the thing was. He must be on Mind reducing drugs. Fink. I would not waste my breath getting back to that tool. If he is American, he must have come from the far end of the Alaskan Pan Handle and fell out of the tree when he hatched.
LOL! If the guy simply wanted a under engine mounted forward exiting exhaust slip on system then why the heck didn't he just ask for that instead of using an obscure slang term from the Urban Dictionary like "Front Dump Slip On". If he would've just spoken in plain English to begin with Fink and not disguised his request in confusing bizarre code he wouldn't have gotten the responses that he got and dispatched a magnitude of plebians afield on an untamed ornithoid pursuit.
