How did you get better voltage?

Back when I had a dirty Hyosung it was almost unavoidable that you would have to upgrade the Reg/Rec because the factory ones were so poor. I got a pretty similar voltage increase from upgrading to an FH0020AA(?) R/R. Is that what people do with VFRs as well?

What did you torque your oil filter at AM?
I think the book says 22 ft lbs. I never bothered with a torque wrench until I bought my Hondas. And after I read the torque hammer thread.

One problem is, who gets their torque wrenches calibrated...

The service manual does say 22 ft lb, but just hand tightened the filter this time. I do love the torque wrench though! Not sure who gets theirs calibrated or really how to do it...something new to learn.

By running a parallel set of wiring that provides redundancy and beefs up the charging system wiring.

I never torque my filter to spec. It's hogwash. Just tighten to snug then about 1/4 turn.

As long as you unwind the TW fully before you store it away and that you do not drop it, it will stay calibrated for a long time. Calibration can only be done in a specialized store.
With a 12'' bar, that would be roughly 15 lbs/ft.

I read that too and thought it was nuts. I have hand tightened all my oil filters with never a problem. Plus 22 ft lb sounds excessive.

AM, that your multimeter? If so, how you like it and is it built well? Never heard of this mfr before. In the market for a new one and need it to test capacitance and that one looks like it does. Also, want autoranging, backlight display and ability to test temperature. Only other well built one I find is the Fluke 116, but that sucker is about $178.00!!!!! Seems like prices just for okay ones around 50 bucks to 150 bucks plus. Was going to get a Craftsman one but read too many negative things about them and now they are made in China and poor quality.

It is well built and like any other meter I've used.
It has everything you mentioned, but not quite sure about temperature testing. Spending the money once for a quality product sure beats buying and replacing multiple shizzy ones...like...cough cough...Craftsman.

Buy a good quality torque hammer. They have lifetime calibration.

What?! All amateur shade tree mechanics have them. The beauty about them is the stronger you are the higher the torque they provide.

I just use simple hand tight option too ans so far there haven't been leaks. I just fucking hate oil drips on my driveway. I was doing an oil change on my wife's Civic and will do my son's Civic this afternoon. Checked on line for torque values for oil plug bolt. Put a new crush washer on this time around. They say 29FP. That seemed awfully excessive to me. And difficult to achieve when you are working under those cars without the use of a lift. Not much room. Never did get 29FP but I could feel the crush washer spreading so I am sure it is tight enough.

I put a new set of Pilot PR 4's on yesterday. Made the choice due to good things I read from other posters here. After only about 50 miles so far, I like the way they feel.
