Not a 91, but the 96-97 and now 98 which all had and have Pirelli corsas, 33f, 34r, @ 180 and love the twistys. all is good here.

Suggestions for what? Better mileage? Better traction? For maximum mileage its 36/42. Maximum traction, that you'll have to play with but you could probably drop the front down to get 32/38 and see how that works.

Hopefully SOW will drop in with his expertise, he has narrowed the perfect "inflation window" down to hundredths of a PSI.

There are also rumors he has created the perfect blend of all the Noble Gases, think nitrogen, combined with the anti-gravity effects of helium.

I don't know about Angels, but Kevin at Bridgestone said max life for the T30 Evo is 36/42 but track/hard canyon riding is 34/36, but you'll risk accellerated wear and cupping up front.

So. I take from this that one cause of cupping is under inflated front tire? Every tire I have had on the front of my bike has cupped, some more than others. I try to keep it inflated to spec. Maybe I should put a couple pounds more in the front on next new front tire. Present one is already cupped and I expect it to last a while longer with the lesser riding I am doing these days.

If anyone thinks this is a bad idea, please jump in.

One way of increasing tire life is actually taking some turns a bit hard to hit the edges, this helps with cupping-I run my front at 35.5- 36 it rides a bit too rough.

I think that next time I am in Vegas, I will flatten my tires and re-fill with their warmer dryer air too. See if that helps. The air here is damper and we have to remember, we have metric air here too.

I have cupping on my front tire and my back tire is flat in the middle not round , not sure if thats the normal style of the tire.
I recently purchased this bike and that was the PSI it came with .
My front is worn so I bought a new Pirelli Angel to replace it and just wondering what would be ideal inflation for all around use.

The flat rear tire is likely from either doing burnouts, or high miles commuting, likely the latter. My rear was always doing that, It would get so flat I could almost stay upright at a red traffic light with both feet on the pegs.

I suspect the latter swell .
    Probably should replace it .
Tread is in great shape .... just the flattens at the middle of the tire.

I got the same bikes, 91 and a 93, I always run 34 front 36 rear, if I carried a passenger I would pump up the rear to about 40.

I run 32.5 front, 33.5 rear, cold. That will go up 4-5 psi as the tires heat up. I don't get any cupping.

This is the front tire on the Super Duke. It has aprox 6000 miles on it. It'll get changed out at the end of this riding season.

I have a photo of a rear tire that may make your rectal muscles cramp.

    To Air is Human

Sometimes pure nitrogen is used, since it has a lower temperature expansion coefficient (green valve cap).
And used in Aviation, for wheels that go up inside (no oxygen in case of a fire).
Personally I use a mix of 78% Nitrogen, 21% oxygen and 1% other,,..

they use nitrogen at Daytona to keep those tyre temperatures down by a few degrees. For street use, it really does'nt matter unless your topping out your "busa." :vtr2:
