So, I don't have a center stand and don't plan to put one on. Any suggestions on lifts or stands for getting one at a time or both wheels off the ground for maintenance on my Gen 8? The kind they use to lift the back end or front end of a race bike is enticing, but have no idea what one will work with my bike.

    Thanks!

Yep, Pit bull, or a product that does the same thing.

I was a late adopter to headlift stands, but I really like the one I have now, which makes fork or front wheel work super easy; it is no good for steering head work though.

Thanks for all the input. I like both the Pit Bull and the Abba stand. Question: Is there a US distributor for the Abba stand? On their web site they only show shipping to the UK and Europe.

I would buy a woodcraft front end stand. I use it on my two viffers and my ex500. Just use a different pin and remove the horns. :mech:

I could not live without my center stand. Its so convenient. Its sleek, hidden away and cannot be seen unless your looking for it. Ive used Pitbull and would recommend them if your anti center stand.

Although I am a very big proponent of the Pit Bull stands, I also really like the Abba stands, particularly the "Skylift". The Bursig too but they still don't make an adapter for the VFR800 or my Duc for that matter! If you're looking for a one stand to do it all, I think the Abba is a good candidate. I may eventually get one myself but garage space is getting less and less! Right now I have all my stands mounted on the wall when not in use. If I'm very careful I can everything in my garage and still have a few inches to move about in.

I have Pitbull stands and the front can use different pins for different bikes. I have seen the Aba stand and it is very cool and only 99.00.

Aren't you missing a digit? A leading 9, perhaps? Or am I missing the $99 stand? Either way you're at least missing a 'b'...

I just checked my 3/31/15 invoice and the Superbike Stand with Front lift arm and Pin Kit 38 for the '14 VFR800 was $299.95 US including shipping.

Make sure you get correct Pin Kit.

I have a center stand on my standard 2014 (dealer paid for it and installation) and will be getting a Pit Bull for the front end as soon as I need to replace the front tire (soon). A VFR needs a center stand for a lot of reasons IMHO. I lifted my 5th and 6th gen. front ends for wheel removal with a non-slip, padded, aluminum box I engineered and made to use under the headers. I don't feel as confident doing that under the 8th gen. headers.
