Socal meet and greet ride 9/4/16

Hello all,

I posted this up on "the other forum", but wanted to get VFRW in on the fun too.

We are going to meet at the Starbucks just east of I-5 on Ortega. Kickstands up at 8am to avoid traffic. Ride Ortega to the Pala Casino gas station where we will potentially meet up with other riders. From there, off to Palomar, Mesa Grande, Banner, Wynola Road, Old Julian, and Highland Valley Road back into Escondido. From there, we'll go our separate ways.

We'll stop for some grub, war stories, and laughs TBD.

Post up here if you're game, and haven't already done so on the other forum.

I would but wrong weekend
Weekend after would be better
9-4 is holiday weekend. The roads will be pack of tourists :sad:

 

Sunday should be good. It's after the rush to the campgrounds and before the rush home. Julian will be crazy, but not that big of deal.

We'll do it again, I'm sure. And I'd be willing to move the date if we didn't already have people committed.

 

Don't go thru the trouble changing the date. I am sure we can join you on the next ride.

 

I would be in, but I work weekends. Have fun y'all.

 

Well you know I'm in. I think last Labor Day we went riding on Sunday it was fine. Monday will be the day to avoid for sure!

 

I wish the US was not such a big place.

 

Dude really, and on my birthday too. sheesh!!

 

Then we share birthdays, sir. I knew there was a reason I liked you...

 

Good to know buuuut, are you able to join us?! A birthday lunch is in it for you!

I'm down South of the border in the US that weekend, but not THAT far South.

 

Leave a couple of days earlier and get over here. Simple.

 

Um, I'm on a VFR not a Harley! but I appreciate the gesture! We can save the beer for the tire change.

 

I'd like to, but I need to save what little vacation I have left. I've burned through almost 4 weeks worth of vacation and only have a few days left for the year.

That and as fun as this GT would be, I'm really looking forward to seeing and spending some time with my friend.

Plus you need to make sure you have time for next year's R3! :nod:

 

I'll have a fresh 4 weeks for R3 next year ... it's already marked down as my #1 trip next year. I'm taking 2 weeks for it, AM and I are stopping in at Death Valley, Hoover Dam, and Grand Canyon on the way down, and then running up the PCH afterwards.

There's talk of Zombie perhaps coming to MB to join us.
