Far out, glad we could help! Great pictures and welcome to the mad-house. I rode both of mine today. Just got back from a nice night ride, havent been out during the evening in quite a while. Its different going to work in the AM when its dark, not as pitch black as it is out in the Everglades. Enjoy your new ride, I got some fresh batteries for both of my Interceptors this week. The heat kills them down here. :peace:

Wow, that's very in depth! I was thinking about just removing the carbs, possibly rejetting them (any recommendation? Bike has a slip on yoshi pipe) at the very least cleaning out the jets and float bowls. But I would like to go deeper.

Does it run premium? I thought it ran 87?

That's a good looking ride. I watched your video and the engine sounds like my 5th gen. I love gear driven cams.

If it matters, I run regular in mine. I used to run premium but couldn't tell the difference in performance and it didn't ping so I just save a few bucks.

Take your time. Clean and check each carb. Leave no stone upturned and no passage unchecked for the best result. The best thing you can do is to know your carbs and to know and understand every circuit, what it does and to be sure that that passage is clear and clean before moving to the next.

Great video, enjoyed the ride with you there. I'd just put some fuel cleaner in it and run a few tanks through her.Does she idle when warm ? Increase the idle speed and sync the carbs before pulling anything apart. I like to ride rather than spanner. When you do get it sorted enjoy those gear driven cams whine, I've had my 5th gen 2 years now and still can get enough of that sound.

Thanks! I will look into syncing the carb, I've never done anything like that before.

    Here's the liinkhttp://vfrworld.com/forums/showthread.php/22449-Cleaning-carbs

I just did my carbs last weekend with a few pointers from the link. I doubt you need to sinc yours, my bet is low speed pilot dirt, those holes are small. Be sure to remove the float needles and pull out the seats, there are small filters on the inlets of the seats that can hog up. I would check the air cutouts too. Finally, use a torque wrench when re-installing the jets and needle seats & read the service manual. Those threads in aluminum and brass can't take much twisting, and just a new needle and seat is $45 for 1 carb. Ask me how I know....
