VFR web site has been Hacked!

There was a hack recently at a company called VerticalScope. They are the host or service provider (not sure about exact terminology) for a bunch of motorsports based forums. Passwords & such were compromised & made available online. No idea if this related to SOW's experience.

So what do you gurus do aboot the sites that chase everyone around like Google and Amazon? The header page on this site has three come on's that are bogus from the get go. As much as I would like a one or two nighter with some Ukranian chicas, finding oot who is trying to call me and buying gold for twenty centavos on the peso, some how they seem to be not as good as a trip to WalMart.

I don't claim to know how a bunch of this shit works probably because I'm not a fast guy. This is just one of the sales pitches that is becoming more and more prevalent.

So I'm looking for a book on Windows 10 on Amazon so I can go to one of their satellite sellers so I can save a few pesos by buying a "used" copy which usually shows up as new... Amazon then "suggest" by stating that "others" bought such and such. This same fucking pitch then shows up for days.

Yep I know somebody out there with has a solution that only requires 37 steps to trash this crap but being the uncomplicated and simple dude that I am, I would like to see a permanent fix. Yep, tried the MS blog and got the Bangladesh Boogie there from the dude that ran the convenience store on The Simpsons.

The issue you are experiencing comes from something called "cookies". Websites place these in your browser cache and is basically a trail for other sites to follow. There are a few remmidies; One, clear the browser cache after leaving a website (not practical). Two, disable the use of cookies (some websites require them though). Three get a browser that supports "private mode". This essentially hides your identity from websites by creating a proxy and doesn't store the data once you leave the website. (Acts like option one automatically) The down side to this is that you'll have to log in to websites like this one every time you access it.
