I thought I would bring this thread back to life with a couple of recent pictures from my cell phone.

A little wood epoxy and sanding and that boat will fine. A little buffing goes a long way. Cool Photo.

I have, it's very difficult outdoors, but a lot of fun. I've never gotten any real keepers with it though.

I shoot cars sometimes in my studio. It takes a full day of prep. The entire grid has to be transformed into a giant soft box. I use rigid cheeseboros and 4' sections of aluminum pipes connected that I tie off a giant 35'x40' on translucent Spandex. All my cyc lights and a bunch more are either focused on the spandex or bounced off the acoustic ceiling. White curtain walls are often used or even all black. Making long beautiful highlights and no reflections of light fixtures , cameras, rigging, or people take time to work out. I'm shooting some Honda's in a few weeks.

Here is the grid and a friends BMW. That whole grid has to be wrapped.

This is an older shot when the grid was much smaller but still a big prep job.
