    Hello,
Newbie here looking for some info. I use purchased a 2003 VFR and am looking to add a few decals... Does an know where I could source some upper fairing decals jus like pictured below? It seems to be the best looking/closest match to an OE style/design IMO...

    Thanks much!
    -John

Hi and welcome to the MadHouse:welcome:

When you get time please swing by the "Introductions" forum and say Hi to the rest of the folks on here and post up a photo or two of your VFR.

You may want to update your forum profile (Forum Actions/Edit Profile) to include the bike specs and an approximate location city/state is fine - so they appear automatically alongside all your posts and if you need help you may find someone living nearby will be willing to swing by and advise - especially if you have a well stocked beer fridge:drink:.

    :focus:

As for decals - the 6th Gen models were still being sold in Europe in 2012 so you can still get OEM decal kits from Honda dealers and specialists like David Silver Spares. If you are OK with "reproductions" they tend to be a lot cheaper and can be ordered online from firms like www.bikedecals.co.uk see their "logo decals" section for examples similar to that shown on the picture above.

    Take care

Strangely I think that is the same decal that someone was just asking about. See the below thread. Unfortunately you can look at the vendors, like the ones I linked to in this post, but the online microfiche version is hand drawn, so you cannot always be sure the part is the style you are looking for. A dealer can get these and you can see the decal in person, but ask first what their policy is. They would consider these special order and once you buy it you probably own it. Some vendors that I use are hondapartshouse.com, partzilla.com, and for some special items sold only in Europe, motorcyclespareparts.eu.

Like Knight mentions most of the decals are available oem. all thouigh there are custom ones too. The Euro models could be different, different years also may have a another style, all though small it could be worth checking into. But make sure when ever you get what you're looking for that they are for the correct side of the bike. They make them for either the left and right specific.

Decals or better said vinyl appliques, by Honda are not exclusive to Honda dealers off or on line. Replicas and custom appliques are not by nature cheesy as been implied. Why the hell would anyone put out crap with the plethora of both hardware, software and stock available.

Even local signage shops crank oot some great stuff. This includes clear and opaque vinyl with non permanent adhesive that is used a stencils for custom work from artwork submitted by customers.

The stuff from Honda is not only copyrighted. It's trademarked. Honda-san get a piece of the action on every sale unless it's bootleg. This does not include HD/Tag Huer watches that have live crickets running them.

Awe yes, after market done by either a professional vinyl person with the right tools, or in my case have the contacts, can create better than OEM. It was right before my 4th gen was toasted, I had a set of what I thought a unique decal replacing the stock ones with these. The 5th gen has a different flair to it, so I'm rethinking what I'd like to see.

I used these guys for replacement decals on my VFR and also VTR1000 and they have been great. They're in Poland but don't let that hold you back.

Great info and most can use it. When I was growing up there was a family down the road that was afflicted by Polophobia, a fear of Keilbasa. There is probably a fear of decals too but I couldn't find it. ;)

    This would have been even more useful if I included the name of my supplier;

Here you go...I got some Euro style 6th gen VFR badges from here. Shipping takes a bit, since it's coming from The Netherlands, but it's the best source I've found for OEM Euro spec decals/badges.

    http://www.cmsnl.com/search.php?model_id=5722&partblk_block=F__4100

You will need 3 items from this page to do both sides...
    - mark,r upp*type4*
    - mark,r fr.*type4*
    - mark,l fr.*type4*
They don't show an upper for the left side, so the missing half of the V must be included, and the picture just doesn't show it.

These are for the silver model like your picture, so I believe these are the exact ones you are looking for. But you can search other years for different colors. It looks like the early 6th gen models (02-03ish) got the decals, and then they switched to the silver colored VFR badges like I got for my bike.

It looks like the 2002 silver Canadian version also had that decal. You might be able to find a Canadian store that carries the OEM decals if you search hard enough.

It was a bunch of work but the kit was cut perfectly and the quality of the decals is very good. I really like the change it made to an already cool looking bike.

Only need a good ezacto knife, spray bottle, heat gun, plenty of time.

Mine is a 5th gen but this company may have what your looking for.

It goes for 300 something but I got a 20% Military discount which took it to the 200 something. It is a quality kit and the decals seem better quality then the stock one's I had to remove.

Here are a couple of links. http://www.tapeworks.com/HONDA Pages/HONDA.html

This one I had to call about because its not listed any longer but they made it for me anyways. http://www.tapeworks.com/HONDA Pages/1131.html.

Working with them on the phone was very easy and the person made sure he knew exactly what I was looking for.
