I've used that site in the past as well. Thanks for sharing it again ... it's a great resource.

In my garage: Honda car with Honda filter. Honda motorcycle with Honda oil filter. No problems. Both vehicles are known for lasting a LONG time. I'll pay a couple of more bucks for Honda filters. Beats oil on a rear tire.

I would install a used Fram before I would trust a K&N oil filter. Well maybe not used but a cheap market bottom Fram before K7N from the horror stories I have read. I used to say "What is the cost of an OEM considering the number of times you change oil?" Then I retired and went on fixed income. Now it is Bosch all the way. Same filter on my bike, my wife's Civic and my son's Civic. Just went in and ordered half a dozen to have on hand at Lordco where I get a damned good discount. Use the same oil in all them as well as my duramax truck too. Just one can of oil on the shelf in the garage instead of three or four open and a few full ones.

ya gota love an oil thread right. I wouldn't wait, Change that sucker before it gets ya good. OEM is ok, Only reason I went Wix was the place I get the Amsoil at was also the rental equipment yard I get a lot of stuff from, in that they Q'd me in on Wix filters from a hydraulic fluid perspective, then found they made oil filters, since they were able to cross referenced the oem and one in stock , it was a few penny's less, figure seemed reasonable, though it's not really about the price so much, it was in hand asap. I've never had any problems for over 15 years, Wix on all my vehicles and equipment. But yea, if I was out n about, out of town and needed a fliter, I'd go OEM for sure.

    And this?

    FB_IMG_1469752325806.jpg

All hundreds of miles from home and by myself too.
Lucky it wasn't raining and I was close to an awesome Honda dealer where I bought Honda filter.

I was just through that spot last week heading to Sheridan, was sure I'd spot this, but since that area has had a few down pours, it has been washed off.

This is NOT a plug for a SCOTT'S oil filter. If ya'll are paying oot pesos for the Honda filters, take advantage of multiple buys to save shipping and handling charges. Shop around for prices too.

Did I say this was not a plug for a SCOTT's filter, If not, my bad.

I agree; however, if you are referring to the bolt that is spot welded to the filter, here is what K&N has to say about that special 204 filter feature on their website:

"Most of these have a 17 mm nut affixed onto the end that allows for easy installation and removal. 17mm Hex Nut Allows Easy-On, Easy Wrench-Off®"

That last statement is even registered.

Seems they could be held extremely liable for any damages a customer may incur by making that claim.
I don't know everything, but I know what I read.

Had I had a major accident or damage, I would have been heavily pursuing them for compensation.
