    Hi,
I would like to get some input on what color you would buy. (2007) And if you would go with ABS or not. I am going to buy one this weekend and my dealer has both colors and ABS or not. Any input would be great, thanks:confused:

Color is personal choice, but I love the RWB! I have an 06 pearl white, but should have done my math and waited for the 25 anniversary. Can't help you on the ABS as my bike does not have that option, but I am interested to hear what everyone else has to say.

The RWB is sure to hold it's value, if not go up. And it looks great to boot!
Mine doesn't have the abs, but I guess it'd be a good option to have.:first:

I couldn't get a RWB bike in my area when I wanted to buy a few months ago so I found a new 06' and bought the black. I love it but I would love to have gotten the RWB bike.

Have to agree, RWB thou I don't have one. Be a killer with white wheels. personal note; abs IMO is over rated.

If you wanted to be different I would buy the Maroon! Don't get me wrong, I love the RWB, however I bet you could work a better deal with the dealer on the Maroon bike. I have ridden several Goldwings with ABS, and I was impressed with how you could stand on the brakes in the wet, but I do not know how necessary it would be on the VFR. If the ABS brakes were to save you from just one accident they would be well worth the $1000!!

The Candy Dark Red is a nice color, but I think for '07, the RWB is the color to get. I didn't go with the ABS since the base model has the linked braking. I figure that linked braking is all the help that I need and ABS would be overkill. One thing about the ABS model is that the rear shock adjustment dial is attached to the right rear passenger peg, so if you want to remove the pegs, you will have to relocate the dial. With the non-ABS model, you can remove the passenger pegs with no restrictions.

Another thing to consider with ABS is weight. I'm not sure of the exact number, but I believe it's somewhere around 10lbs of extra weight.

    Good Luck!

You won't notice the difference, trust me, 10lbs is nothing in the great scheme of things. You won't be moaning about the weight if the bike saves your life.

Over in europe we only get the ABS version so the only dilema we have is colour choice, as our choices are different to yours sadly. I like the black one a lot, smooths the lines of the bike out, doesn't make it look jagged like the silver one does. Everyone has a red VFR at some point so only other option apart from the black is the RWB (which we can't get over here).

If you can afford it, I would get the ABS. It is nice added insurance to have, and who knows, it might save your ass someday!

Honda has about the best ABS I've ridden. Much less rough when it kicks in than BMW. Like usual, the Honda engineers kicked a$$.

I ride about 20K/miles year in LA to commute and for fun, and I wouldn't ride w/o ABS any more. I know everyone says 'you can steer around the moron', but when you're between two cars in a 3 foot corridor, there isn't much room.

There's also the theory that a good braker can outbrake abs, which is theoretically true. The problem is, performance drops substantially in stress situations. In SWAT police training, I've heard 60-70% drop in performance when shooting (something else that takes coordination, thought, and fast reactions).

So, unless you (i) really can brake like Rossi, and (ii) are completely unaffected by the stress associated with fact that a couch just fell off the truck in front of you, 40 feet ahead of your front wheel at 85 mph, and you have a car on either side of you, you may want it :).

I'd agree that price would play a part in my choice,... and if the dealer has four VFRs at this point in the season, you have a good chance to get a good deal.

Depending on how you intend to ride is my view on ABS... I would have gotten an ABS bike, but would have had to wait for it after ordering... so I saved the 10-15 lbs and a couple weeks of riding time. If both had been there I'd have gotten the ABS.

I have an 05 with ABS. Having riden for many years and seen how the ABS on mine works I would never buy another bike without it. Bad things happen in the real world and ABS may save you one day. Lots of riders say if you practice braking a lot you don't need it but real world emergency braking just isn't the same and it only has to save you once to be worth it. But remember it won't make up for poor skills. As for the weight, the extra 10lbs or so isn't really noticeable and if its that big a deal most people can afford to loose 10lbs of body weight anyway.

Colour, whatever floats your boat. I like them all, I do agree with an earlier comment that you can probably get a better deal on a maroon bike which I think is a pretty cool colour.

I own the one on the right, and it has ABS.

It's not much more, and well worth the additional expense.

also, heated grips. turn the switch and it's springtime.

we met at the Honda Sport Touring assn. gathering in Asheville, NC.

of course, if you buy the red, you won't stare at it so much making you late for work.

It`s not an easy choice to choose the right color. But choose the one YOU think is prettiest. I own the Candy Glory Red which in the right light looks just stunning.

ABS or not: I think it CAN save my life. So far(after 6500km) I haven`t needed it you never know when...
Plus you get the golden brake calipers(BLING-BLING) and the easy access rear suspension adjustment.

    An easy choice for me.

i never noticed that before. are they the same brakes just different colors or what? if theyre the same i think they might go nicely with my black 06.

(anyone with a RWB 07 non abs watch out. you might come out to your bike with no wheels and no brakes:tongue: )lol

The 20th Anniversary Edition is stunning. It helped bring me to the VFR in the 1st place although I ended up with a Red 04'. The Maroon is very classy, but not the showstopper as the 86' Replica Graphics are.

As far as the ABS, on a bike with linked brakes how could it hurt except price? Its not like we have total braking control anyhow...it'll stop but its no R1 in the braking dept. The extra weight is squat on a 550lb bike, no more cheesecake and you're in!!!
