Hmmm, my take, it doesn't sound like a VFR either. Well none I've had the pleasure of listening too.

    sounds like 4 cylinder Harley.
Would be a great way to piss off your neighbours if you hated them.

No thanks, I'm probably in the minority but i like the looks and sound of the stock exhaust. The looks and styling alone aren't worth it to me to go aftermarket. Yea, an aftermarket will weigh less but cost quite a bit and ultimately you don't get allot of performance for your money.

Wish you could see what the tail end of the bike looks like without the exhaust tucked underneath it in the video.

Your neighbors will have a meeting and have you killed within hours of putting that on. I hope I am on the jury that acquits them.

To me loud exhausts get old in a hurry. My 83 has V & H pipes with Kerker straight through cans, put them on back in 84-85. Loud, but not obnoxious like a Harley. I enjoy riding the '14 with it's stock exhaust, much more peaceful.

You can tell by the stumble at rev that this is basically the same as running with only the header. There is no back pressure, so in order for this to work, you would need a lot of tuning done and also you would probably need to move somewhere were you had no neighbors or police. I don't know how you would protect your valves from burning.

My 99 has a Delkevic header with a Two Brothers Racing slip on and I listened to it run briefly with it taken off. Sounded basically the same as this; stumble when I blipped the throttle and the same raspy metallic nastiness. I put the slip on back in place and it sounded much better and ran better as well.

The need for back pressure is an age old myth that started when someone fitted too large of diameter piping/primaries for a given engine or as in this case when someone ran open header, lost power and then blamed it on the loss of back-pressure. Back pressure is not a good thing and is not needed. An ideal exhaust gas velocity and in turn momentum of the exhaust gas, to create a scavenging effect in between pulses, is what is needed, to create an efficient exhaust system. When you run open header, you are losing power, not due to the loss of back pressure, but due to the loss of enough exhaust gas moment to pull (or scavenge) the next wave of exhaust out of the combustion chamber and in turn pull more fresh air/fuel mixture in. There really is not a whole lot of back pressure in the factory sixth gen slip on. The factory sixth gen header, on the other hand, with it's tiny primaries, poor merge angles and catalytic converter, is very restrictive, but believe me, even with a full race exhaust (relatively zero restriction) the fueling changes needed to correct the AFR is minimal.

With all that being said, this pepboys exhaust tip is just awful. In a world, where one can pick up a cheap delkivic slip on for a few bucks, a high end two brothers/staintune/leo vince/fmf/extra for a few more or go to walmart and pick this exhaust tip up for $19.95, I do not see the point. That is, unless you just want to make your exhaust as obnoxious as possible, at the expense of horse power, with as minimal of effort/money as possible. If that is the idea, then this is definitely the exhaust for you.

The rig the guy has on the bike has sound damping. Try running a VFR without a can sometime. Great for pulling into a Harley dealership and trying to buy a Tshirt with "Loud pipes save lives".

In your hood this is not advised.

no lol. I believe those either need back-pressure and or some form of expansion chamber to create tuned pressure waves for ideal scavenging and back pressure with in a given powerband.

The power of any good header is made at the collector.
