I'm curious as well ... I was looking really hard at the Roadtec Z-01s but the value of the T30 EVO seemed better for me.

I really like these tire ads that take into account bikes, riding style, location, roadway surfaces, slope, price and of course "since that is what I have, they are the best."

Some other stuff too that makes my little chickenshit list look really small.

Next darn thing ya know. oil will be next and who knows what after that?

    Haha, BB...I get your point.

But...I'd rather hear some opinions than buy blind.

Someone's riding style, location, roads, weight, or any other factors, may be similar to mine. And the only way I'll know is to ask around for opinions and reviews.

Or spend a ton of time and money on shizzzy shoes. And ain't nobody have time for that.

    Here's a good start point:

    https://www.google.com/webhp?source...&rlz=1T4ADFA_enUS401#q=motorcycle+tire+makers

A good friend was National Sales Manager for Avon. His Avons were the best thing since canned mashed spuds so far as the general public was concerned.

So much of what is nice on a bike including the necessary stuff and los farklos (Spanish for farkles) is subjective and driven by what ya want not what ya need.

Tons of useful data on the individual tire sites for your style. Bottom line for me to tell you what is the best set (always a set BTW) for you is not very sensible.

Shoes? Immelda Marcos had it down in spades. Have tons of them. ... and do the shoe folks have that down pat when it comes to shoes for women. Y'all are getting ripped off. I am surprised this is not the subject for a book or maybe even one of those essays you write for your MA..

The temp solution to this is find the corresponding sizes in both American and Euro shoes and buy at least for riding and other athletics mens shoes..

Me boots are Dehners and been a Birkenstock dude for many years. No agony in my feet thankyou..

As already stated change the tires! Also check that the front was not lowered or raised in the tripple tree. Changing the rake and trail can upset the geometry and problems can rear their ugly heads. Some lower and turn in is easier, but that can come with a compromise to high speed stability. Ohlins and Scotts make very good dampers.

I normally get about 8000km from a set, but bear in mind I don't live in Kansas, ALL my riding is down bumpy twisty coarse-chip roads at a brisk and spirited pace, so I tend to wear the tyres on their shoulders not the centres. The Z8's are the most confidence inspiring tyres with a very neutral turn in and steady feel heeled over, fabulous traction and good in the wet. They are also a soft-riding tyre that gives good road feel without being harsh.

I've been riding my ST1100 on ten year old tyres (Pirelli Dragon GT front, Continental Road Attack rear) and the Conti is fine, but the Pirelli has just vanished before my eyes, which makes me think that it has become brittle and easily chewed by the road surface. Still got 3000km out of it, you just need to bear in mind what you are riding on, and its limitations. Dry traction was fine, wet traction was not really any good at all.

Here's an opinion for ya (everybody has one). I have a set of Bridgestone BT023's on my 8th gen., weigh 188#, and they are fantastic and not even Bstone's latest and greatest tire. I got them because you can get them REALLY inexpensively and I liked their old BT021's in their heyday. The BT023's turn in very quick for an ST tire, stick very well, are wearing amazingly well considering I do mountain riding only and beat them up pretty bad with horsepower and torque. I have another new set waiting in the basement they were such a good deal at BikeBandit :topsy_turvy:

You piling on me Jim? The ST is currently parked up waiting for a new Metzeler Z8. Believe me, I started out very cautiously when I first got the ST running and was very wary of the tyres, and worked my pace up gently, like you do with fresh new tyres.

No, The 6th gen I just got came with a worn out front and a back with a leaking plug. (and I actually put maybe 50 miles on it like that!) I figure that every bike I get needs tires.

Is this a general observation or because I don't have a near orgasm when you post some subjective crap that I am supposed to buy into?

If it bothers you, or you can't handle it, put me on ignore. I am not oot to foster any alienation of affection between you and Knight, et al.

I had a problem once in Chicago with a thing that was on my Eggs Benedict. I asked the waiter and he told me it was a sliver of truffle.

It's sad that you have to be like this BB - really, you have a lot of knowledge that you could share with others, but instead you feel the need to come here and complain or try to get a rise out of others.

Maybe you should put US on ignore or walk away if you're not happy with what's being said instead of your usual song and dance? Either way, there's no need for your particular flavor of vitriol. It's shame.

You know, I like it here. I like the banter, the people, the bikes and the goofiness. I like the comradery around a common bike and brand. It keeps me happy for a time and affords me a bit of escape.

I need this escape. We have had five stupid senseless murdered cop funerals here today and I am not sure if I can take the world as it is right now.

This was a great post! I fully agree!
But in this thread we went a bit overboard and off topic from the OP, IMO. I hope this did not discourage our new member, Six-Demon-Bag. This forum is usually more entertaining.
