    (Naked '86 Pearl VFR700FII)

Greetings. I bought this bike as is, and restoring it to
its former glory is completely out of my time, money,
space, and expertise budgets. So I'll be continuing the
    conversion to a sleeper.

Reducing the overall weight of the bike is a top
priority, so some good parts may become available that
way. (I'm thinking that a kickstarter would be a lot
lighter, and allow a lighter battery...) Any suggestions?
A good suggestion, from a Collector approved by the Forum,
gets the original part free (COD).

But the tank is chipped, the exhaust system is rusted, the
seat is half duct tape, there are a couple of holes in the
left muffler, and the plastic is gone or trashed....

I'll be replacing the turn signals with big, bright ones
that stick out more and operate as emergency flashers. The
new, slimline exhaust will be placed up the sides, and a skid
plate installed. (A little more weight, I realize).

This is not happening in any big hurry.

Someday, I'd like to ride a shiny VFR400R. Red, White, and
Blue. Here comes Captain America! Z-O-O-O-O-O-M :)

    Happy Independece Day, everyone!

Nice, always fun to find a VFR that has been abandoned and brought back from the dead. VFRs never had kick starter,s but they push start pretty well. ;) just saying. Best of with your new found project. reminds me of a couple of mine from back in the day, Good times.

Hey RVFR. It would be an absurdly expensive mod, that's for
sure. Nice ride you have there. If it said 2014 instead 98,
I'd have believed it. What (overgrown) kid wouldn't love to
be seen on _that_ ride! :)

A better weight saving would be to replace the lead acid battery with a much lighter lithium battery. Same benefit, no kicking!

You could swap it for a VFR400; they'd be about the same weight.

Well, Cadbury64, you were right about the weight, but I just can't
find anyone who wants to trade. :)
