Just would like to know if that slight ticking noise is normal right before it warms up. Noise does not change if you rev it up. Is that the exhaust valve in the muffler ect. Just would like to know if this is normal.

Is the noise there immediately at start up or does it start a few moments after starting?

Possibly a leaking exhaust gasket that ticks when cold but expands and seals as it warms

I take it to mean the frequency of the "ticking" does not change (remains constant) with rpm?

Can you locate the general vicinity of the ticking?

    Disappears after warm up?
