I ride rain or shine. Only hail and lightning stops me.

I have rode in the ran a lot of times. I have done about 6 track days in the rain too but I don't track in the rain anymore. I did it more to learn about how much traction there really is in the wet, helps with confidence in riding streets in the wet.

Rain's fine if you got the gear but who wants to have to wash your bike afterwords? Rather wipe it down with quick detailer.

Road on solid frost once. Lowell Larimar was pure white. Didn't feel like turning around so road the last 3 miles. Stayed erect.

Only if on a long road trip and had no choice... but dry shelter would be most immediate. I don't even like to drive in the rain. Still I'm a 4 month newbie, respect to those who can stomach the rain.

LOL!! we are definitely wired different... The congestion where I live make it a miserable experience people see rain and think its snow around here. I get mad enough to punch a baby...

I avoid it. But some times it inevitable, it happens. like my piloting pre trip planning, I do my best to get around it, for one it's a hell of a lot safer not being in it, not to mention more fun. With vision & braking when obstacles, such as other vehicles show up, why ask for trouble? Second, I've had my fair share of it when I was younger to the point I've had enough now. Now dirt that's a whole other subject. Agree knowing traction control from track experience giving one confidence knowing whats what is great to know. We didn't go to the track this last weekend because of rain. Ha-ha I ran into the track marshal at the shop yesterday, he says that's the best time to do track day, you'll learn so much more. I just smiled. then read Nickys comment clear visor giving clear vision is necessary LOL use rain X ;) That comes back to what I was saying before.

It reminds me of a joke. Two women went on a bicycle ride and the lead rider decided to take a new route down a cobble stone road. After a while the other lady chimed in, "I don't think I've come this way before". The lead rider responds..."It's the cobble stones"

Yep, I'm one of those crazy ones who actually enjoys riding in the rain! My riding season is generally late January - early December. Dress for it, grip warmers, and pin-locks! I've been toying with a few ideas though... a bumper sticker that says "Seattle riders do it in the rain" and tossing on a couple of rubber ducky floaties just to mess with people while going down the road.

    It's not a party until someone's wet! ;)

I got in to a monsoon in Lafayette Indiana this last Tuesday coming home. I hit about 1/2" to 1" of water on the highway at about 70 and plowed right thru it. Love the T30 EVO tires! The sky opened up big time and traffic (some) slowed to 50mph for a while. The slow people got over and I kept going 65+ following a semi.

I learned to ride in the rain on a race track in a few 24hr races. Try it at night in the rain. It really makes you aware. So rain riding doesn't bother me much. Some of the roads do though when wet.

When I first started riding, the only license I had for a couple of years was my M1, so I kind of had no choice but to ride in the rain if I wanted to go somewhere. A few times I actually ventured out and mess about, but that was on my XL125, fun bike to play on even in the wet weather. Now I normally avoid starting out riding if it's raining and I'm commuting, mostly because no one seems to know how to drive here in So Cal and especially if it's raining! If it rains while I'm already out, not an issue. I also have no problem riding in the rain for long periods of time and have done it on several occasions but as someone else mentioned, with the proper gear no problemo, without the proper gear it can get miserable. I usually commute with my rain gear in my top case for those unexpected showers, but that's more when the weather is likely to have them. Now that it's summer, other than the May Gray and June Gloom wet mornings we had, pretty safe bet no ones getting wet for a while. Most of the guys I currently ride with won't ride in the rain, so if it is raining, I'm usually riding solo.
