Almost Home!

I wanna hear about that bike issue. Whether or not something acts up, again. Something tells me it ain't fixed yet! In Edmonton, your battery was fine, charging system fine. No corrosion, no burnt wiring in battery area. What we saw, looked o.k., but even then there was something wrong. There is a bad regulator, rectifier, or something,that is acting up intermittently. Or your stator, could be something even as simple as a weak spring on an alt. brush? Could be a main wire that is intermittantly open or shorted. Really don't like your battery tender hookup. About the only thing that is not stock. Also has given you an issue twice. I believe that this model of VFR could be very sensitive to voltages changing . I know the multiplexed Trucks have strange things happen in unrelated systems, because everything is now connected. The fuel injected VFR isn't far behind.
Save your money, A.M., in case an issue comes back up. As much as Dealerships get bad mouthed, they do have the expertise to solve issues, if the right guy is doing the work. I'm sure you could even begin checking some of this stuff yourself.
Also, thanks for taking the time and effort to record your journey. I'm sure it is sometimes tiring to receive a lot of mechanical and trip advice from me that you didn't ask for. I enjoyed hearing and seeing you progress throughout Canada and the States. Hopefully you encouraged others, both Female and Male, to take the Bull by the horns, so to say and go for a ride. Solo touring is the quickest way to travel and your choice of accommodation, food and places to visit never gets voted down! As rainy as it was here, it could've been worse. Edmonton has seen snow in every month of the year at some point. Bet Jasper too! Thanks, A.M.!
