No reception in Wolf Camp but we're all setup. The wolves howl every now and again throughout the day.

There's a cafe / bar on site for convenience. The owner Jerry, is a fantastic guy.

Some shots from this morning. Took some video on my GoPro. Riding is fantastic. Even my buddy from Virginia is loving it.

Wifey and I were there back in '12. beautiful countryside we thought. Love the rock formations and all that Pondarosa Pine. But we found that Mount Rushmore appear far more grand in photographs than in person. Don't get me wrong, I loved it and it was an amazing feat, it is just an observation we both made. I would like to go back. That could be sooner than I thought. Because of the Forrest fire up in Fort McMurray, we are seeing a fuel shortage here in western Canada begin to show up so my trip to Winnipeg could very well be through the USA....like last time

Tried sending a reply from my phone, because that is where the photos are...
Might not have done that right.

Anyway, add my vote for Deadwood. I was in The Hills for only a day last year, on a rental ride, 2 weeks before the madness that was the 75th Sturgis rally.
Made it great, and the timing was perfect, because everything was ready, but the roads were nearly deserted.

Do the usual sites for sure, and I'd include Crazy Horse. As for riding, there are many smaller roads which are well-paved and very scenic.
My recollection is that one of the best roads was "Vanocker Canyon Road" between Sturgis and Nemo. Beautiful, and the pavement appeared to be mostly fresh.

    Enjoy!

Heading to Devils Tower, WY today. Stopped on the side of the interstate because one of the guys shit themselves in the saddle. LMFAO. Could hardly keep control of the bike I was laughing so hard.

Moral of this story .... never trust a fart!!!!!

    Devils Tower and back, bitches!!

We took the Spearfish Canyon there and the Van Locker Canyon home through Nemo ... both very enjoyable.

I got a lot of good video on the GoPro today. My buddies are in love with the sound of VTEC and keep playing sections of the video over again to hear it.

The bike is filthy and my buddy had a shower and changed his underwear. LOL

Wow they have a trading post now. Don't remember that when I there in 91. You've taken the same route I took back then. Thru bowman and all. So where are you off to now? Be safe and enjoy the hell out of the ride. Oh yea watch out for buffalo as it's open range out there.

Technically, the animals you refer to are not Buffalo, they are Bison. Walked or ran across the road right in front of us, so yea, you have to be careful!
For anyone visiting Rushmore, I can highly recommend an item on the menu at the restaurant/cafeteria there: Bison Stew.
It was extraordinary, and I could go for a bowl of that right now!

Yes your absolutely right I forgot. I've been in Yellowstone this past week or so and have come across lots of buffalo up there so that's were my thinking was. Either way you don't mess with them!

Saw a piece on CBS about them, Native Americans call them Buffalo, they were here first! White man calls them Bison, either way the herd is coming back.

It was only myself and one of the guys today. The others weren't feeling well and stayed in camp. I led today.

Rocked the Windcave National Monument today and went 209 ft underground. Awesome tour.

The roads were great. Some of my favourites. I was riding the edge of my treads pretty hard and had a few slides in the back end ... just twisted the throttle a little more for some MotoGP style riding. Haha

We had lunch in Custer as well. Best pot roast sandwich ever!!

We also saw bison that wouldn't move off the roads and many other critters.

Pretty cool. Some day on a bike, as it happens I've been there in an auto full of family so no hot rodding around was allowed, but ;) . Crazy fun country for sure.
