She is having it towed but will still need a clean up. My friend in Bozman said he will get back to me in a few. Oil on the tire can easily be cleaned off, how much in the back brakes might be a different story.

Just heard back from Bozman contact. He said that the folks at Yellowstone are very good and that they will take care of you. He said there is a car wash near the four corners intersection heading toward Ennis.

    That's Unreal.
Is my Torque Wrench out of Adjustment?
We used it on the Oil Filter, Drain Plug and the Rear Wheel Pinch Bolt.
    Those should also be checked.
Its possible the Aluminum Threads were over torqued on the previous oil change, damaged.
Who else uses a Torque Wrench on an Oil Change?
I guess its not known yet if the Drain Plug spun out or the threads are stripped.

If she stopped right away, the motor should be OK.
Man, not falling down with that Load,,.. Good Riding A.M.

I'm not even certain the plug is gone. I assumed given how fast it drained just like an oil change. I'll know more when I get to the shop. Could be something else blew. I pulled over immediately. Habit of always watching rear mirrors.

Are you sure this is oil and not radiator fluid?

Just got all the messages as I stopped here in Custer for a bite.

My contact recommended the place you're taking the bike to.

Let me know if you need to crash there / need some local help.

Ugh. I'll guess the plug or a pinched filter gasket

To clean your poor fella, big spray bottle of simple green, cheap paint brush and a cheap paint bucket. Just go at it with the SG, rinse. repeat tiil clean.

If you go to coin-op car was, use to rinse, don't use high pressure with soap, it will drive soapy solution into places you don't want. Simple green will cut the oil, use it all the time after oil changes.

What kind of oil filter did you guys use? Reason being I have had 2 bad K&N's where the gasket deformed and leaked. One was on my track bike that was fine for 3 sessions and then had way through session 4 I was in the turn leading into the back straight and the rear end just lit up and I was sideways in a flash. Thank goodness I kept the throttle dialed and just kept it spinning and regained control. I'll never use one of their filters again. The sent me a new filter after I wrote them about the 2 bad experiences but had nothing else to say. I threw it in the garbage.

She had a K&N with her. Don't know if that's the one that she used though.

I use Wix myself with no failures to date.

+1 on staying away from K&N oil filters, rubber gasket wrong diameter to mate properly.

Easier fix than the drain plug, makes more sense.

I just ran out in front of the garbage truck and dug out the Box,,.. yes its a K&N, KN-204
This Torque Wrench is about a year old, not used much, and I used it to assemble the motor I'm riding on now.
I feel so bad, that was my watch. Hope its an easy fix.

I just left Bozeman two days ago. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope things work out for the best. Either way you'll have a good motorcycle tale to tell. Keep the positive attitude. It'll come back around. Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

Hopefully it didn't hurt the engine as you caught it quick. May be the smoke was just from oil getting on the exhaust burning off. It would be great to plug the hole and put oil in it and go. (Fingers crossed)

Anne needs to right a book about this one. Talk about crazy, and to think she isn't done yet. It's great to read all the support. SMH. this would break most folks, talk about driven. Hopefully there's no internal engine damage.
