    Anne Marie,

Can you plan your remaining route more based on the weather from now on out? I know you are staying very positive, however, seemingly never ending chilling rain and weather can really beat a person down...inside and out. You are doing outstanding, however, just saying, it is something to consider.

    While you're on the Island

After the shitty ride to Tofino, weather permitting, you can try the ride to Port Alberni. There's a paved road from below Nanaimo acroos, west to Port Alberni. There is a nice Provincial park there with "potholes" that are amazing. Not on the road, but they are actually tidal pools. Wicked road as well. You can ride from there to Victoria, as well. Need more info, let me know. Also, Tweeted you.

Yeah, I'm about to set up camp and all I wanna do is snuggle in my sleeping bag with my gear on top of me for warmth. I need a person!!
    I'm so chilled.

I'm camping in Nanaimo and will head to Victoria in the morning. It's supposed to be sunny there. We'll see.

I'm definitely positive overall, but frustration crept in today with the weather. Since I gave up on Prince Rupert because of weather, this hit a little hard today.

The west coast of the island is hard to predict and is very much influenced by the ocean. That includes Port Alberni. Victoria can be cool too but at least there is enough there to get in out of poor weather. Though it can be cool, typically they get morr sun than Vancouver. Once you head east of the Fraser Valley, Saturday, you start getting intoa semi arid climate of the Okanogan Valley.

That's cause Vancouverites go there every weekend, drink like there is no tomorrow, kinda like R3, then piss all over the grass.

Not sure if you're a chili fan or not, but if you are the chili at Timmies ain't half bad. Sorry to hear about another day of freezing rain AM, but the sun WILL come out tomorrow, the weatherman said so. LOL

I BEG YOUR PARDON MR. BARRETT!!!!!!! LOL. Sometimes it turns white, during the winter, when and IF we get snow. I happen to have green grass in the front yard, but the back yard is uhhhhh, well, OK, OK, it's brown. The previous owners had a couple very large dogs and they destroyed the grass in the back yard, but I'm planning to lay down some sod and get the back yard green again at some point. It has been warm and dry here for quite a while, though slightly cooler than this time last year. It is however looking warm and sunny for the weekend with highs in the low 30's (85-90F). Perfect for biking.

I see "The Going to the Sun Road" is not open quite yet. Must've got a lot of snow this year. I have ridden around the perimeter, as well, and it is a curvy road. The scenery is not as spectacular though. They are plowing, though, and will probably be done within a few days. Check out the website. Some pretty cool shots of them plowing. They also show how far they've plowed. They are very close to being done.

LOL. Oh, I know the Okanagan very well .... most of my fathers family lives in Kelowna / Penticton these days. This time of year would be very nice though, especially if it's a little cooler - a little later and it's too hot there. :)

I will definitely have to let you know when I come out to visit family.

I saw that on FB! Tha's awesome! :)

When you're finally awake this morning, hit me up on messenger and we'll quickly walk through your voltage readings again. Be sure to grab the voltage from your charging lead as well (without the Battery Tender USB port plugged in)

You should think about entering that pic in this year's calendar.
The calendar's been all about the bikes but when you factor in your epic ride, it might be a time for a change.

    Besides, it's white :)

    What calendar is this?

It's a pretty awesome picture which conveys the overall spirit of the trip:

Keeping my head up and pressing on no matter what comes my way or how scared or frustrated I have been at times, because the beauty and grandeur of it all is worth it.
