My buddy who works in the movie industry worked on a film with Keanu (A Walk in the Clouds), he said he was really a down to earth guy. Not the typical Hollywood type. He was at one of the MotoGP races this year and they interviewed him, he was really excited to be at the races, seems to have a genuine passion for motorcycles.

 

My peso stash ain't big enough to buy a bike like that. I would give him a few for his Norton though.

Lists of Hollywood types with bikes who are the real thing. Others ain't.

I have heard Mickey Mouse rides a Harley.

 

Considering how much Mickey charges to get into his casa, he can not only afford a Harley but even a few of Keanu's bikes!

 

It's nice but pretty bikes with fancy paint and antiquated engines just don't do it for me. I have more desire for a bike with some luggage ready to head out to parts unknown. That bike is good for local rides and bar hopping.

 

His partner was riding Keanu's personal ride, two set ups, cruiser pegs forward and sport. Bike looks very well made and its very long at 50k..ouch
Funny thing is I just got done watching John Wick the night before, when asked where he was he said he's making John Wick 2.

Pitt and Tom Cruise have some awesome bikes and they both ride. Cruise does a lot of the bike scenes in his movies. Both have been know to sneak out in the middle of the night to ride. Both have been caught by the poperozie wanting photos of them riding. Keanu got the riding bug a bit later but loves bikes too.

 

Bike Magazine UK (best motorcycle mag) did a write-up on this subject, arguing which celebrity was the most legit motorcycle guy. They said the winner was Tom Cruise, no question. Supposedly, his Dad was a motorcycle guy, and he grew up going to occasional track days and has been into bikes since long before he was famous.

 

Cruise is 50 years old.. Track days when? His filmography will show his entire film work including bit parts when he was "discovered" and when he hit the bigtime.

Lots of this stuff comes from publicists that guys like Reeves, Cruise and Pitt probably cringe at being real bike dudes.

Track days is a loose term and usually confined to roadrace venues as opposed to especially dirt, or asphalt ovals. Testing use? Yes. Were some tracks up for rental? Yes but only under certain conditions requiring a shitload of insurance and many times providing an on site ambulance service and lots of pesos.

 

Movies are movies. Even Knight could be made to look real with a shitload of CGI..LOL SOW is beyond any help..

 

Thats how it was back in the eighties when there was no such thing as a track day. We used to get 10-15 and rent Willow Springs back in the day when my friend was Formula USA Champ...

Actually Billy he has a long history of doing a lot of his own stunts and riding since he was 9 or 10 years old. Directors love/hate that he does this. Love the flexibility they get while shooting the real actor hanging off something or really riding for instance, hate that they are often at risk and often get hurt. He is an action junkie and an insurance nightmare. If I remember correctly he bought his first bike and wrecked it badly at around 10 years old and hid the bike and wreck from his folks.

 

Watch Winning: The Racing Life of Paul Newman. Great movie and you really appreciate the type of man he was! Anyways, he got Cruise into racing cars, but I had a feeling from the movie Cruise quit cause he was crash prone. Definitely seems like a motorhead tho!

 

The doc on Steve McQueen was good too. He was the real deal with cars and bikes.

 

Willow has a long history including a visit and a win by Mike Hailwood. The track for years just sat there little used ,no gate, and nobody around. Just go in and do laps.

Bet it costs as much as a ticket to Disnyland now just for a hot dog and a coke..
