After my accident, I will never ride without actual motorcycle boots again ... my foot is still messed up despite wearing them. I cringe to think what my foot would be like had I been wearing tennis shoes. :(

I know what you mean. The one time that I thought "I don't need my gloves. I am just going down the street to gas up" is when I had my wreck and peeled all the skin off the palms of both hands. I don't care what others do. I ride with my gear on.

Ah balls!!! That's horrible!!! I don't ride in my tennis shoes...those are for walking around camp...but I am guilty of riding in my lace ups most of the time. They have no real armor in them, but ankles and calves are covered.

Maybe I'll rethink using my riding boots all the time.

For commuting I use some low cut boots by TCX (X-Square or Jupiter2), they're more Moto centric but by no means a replacement for full coverage boots but have good protection and are comfortable for when walking around.

Yeah, I wear a set of TCX Explorers any time I'm on my bike. I pack a pair of shoes for walking around if I need them when I'm not on the bike.

I used to be guilty for only wearing bits and pieces of gear depending on where I was going, but after the accident (and being in full gear when it happened), I was convinced and am now hardcore ATGATT.

Remember AM, riding with tennis shoes, you come to a stop and the foot that you put down, shoelaces make catch on your shifter or brake and down you go

Funny you say this ... this has happened once or twice on my riding pants! Thankfully, they only catch just a little and don't get totally hung up on them.

I've been thinking of getting a band or something for that leg to keep the pants tight against my leg in that spot.

You can hit an army navy store for blousing bands they work a treat and can be used as emergency hair ties if you come across a damsel in distress.

I bought this nice 01 3 weeks ago tomorrow. 4100 miles. Barely broken in, but still 15.5 years old.

I replaced the stuck open thermostat. No shop manual, just info from this sight and others. No fun, but it's done.

The stock chain had gotten rusty, and stiff. The new DID X Gold looks about 1000X better.

What a great motorcycle. Made me love riding again.

Rode in to work on a 45-degree rainy day. Rain gear working awesome. Effortless bike wash. Craziest girl at work.[IMG]

Replaced the fan switch since mine was dead, this one is a little lower temp but it was available local for 20 bucks so i'm fine for now. Made an adapter for the bullet connections with crap i had laying around. Normally i'm anti anything ground being red, but i didn't have any thick black wire so lay off me, i can fix it later. :p

So, it looks like I may have gotten my fork seal leak under control. Either that or my dust seal is working as a secondary seal. Either way, it's not leaking. I have the new Honda seals, tho, just in case. Maybe the thin feeler gauge did work.
