Talk about a race of attrition, 8 riders out today, some by technical reasons others by crashes. You have to watch the synchronized crash that happened today too. Two riders, same corner and neither rider was the cause of the others crash!

So the question is, who is going to fill in Dani's spot? With the number of crashes for all of the satellite Honda riders this year, not too many look enticing to Honda I'm sure.

Hrmmm, wait a minute, think through that statement - all the Honda riders crashing... And not just the satellite riders I'll remind you...

I have yet to see the Dani thing be corroborated - not to say that it wont.

What I think is really going to be interesting, is to see if Honda has any Aliens when all is said and done...

The comments after the race today by MM, remind me of Ducati... Supremely talented rider deludes the factory into thinking they're not as far off the mark as they are, and they are not listening to their riders to improve it...

While money and prestige, along with the fact that the prime spot would be Yamaha and Rossi's team-mate may keep him there, I think if there was an attractive alternative, MM would not stay at Honda...

The big H needs to rethink their approach. But, then again, this is not new. One of the major reasons Rossi left Honda, and went to Yamaha, a bike that hadn't won a race in 9 fricken years (if my memory serves me), and he won in his first race aboard it, was because Honda had the audacity to make the "mistake" of implying it was the bike, and not the rider that made the difference. I think Honda will always think themselves superior, and believe they can engineer themselves out of any issue - they just need a rider to "get the most" out of their great machine, and they'll win (in their minds).

Gonna be an interesting silly season, and would be really something if Honda found themselves without an "Alien" at all...

Jl was a machine. all his laps were within .2 seconds of each other. Rossi showed a lot of spunk scrapping with the youngsters and moving through them.

I was only referring to the satellite riders because these are the riders already in the MotoGP class and are currently riding a Honda so they make a likely choice to call up to the big league. MM and DP are already on the team so they didn't count in my eyes. But yes, they too have crashed!

However, crashing aside, it seems the three Honda satellite riders are doing poorly even if they can stay upright. Rabat, just seems to have been neutered. Miller, well he hasn't impressed me at all, didn't last year either. Crutchlow, someone I had hoped would be doing much better this year and is much more likely to be able to ride closer to the front, he's crashed 3 times this year but didn't fare to well when he did finish.

Unless Honda is thinking they'll pick someone from the Moto2 or Moto3 classes, or a MotoGP rider on a different brand, though I'm not sure they will be many takers, seems they might have slim pickings.

Where did you hear/read MM's post race comments? I know most riders who have crashed have been blaming the Michelins lack of feedback, particularly the fronts but being that MM needs the hard front to be able to catch up with the better accelerating bikes by late breaking into the corners due to Honda's lack of acceleration, statements about the bike would definitely seem likely.

JL had made some statements to the effect that with the Michelins, setup of the bike is even more crucial and that although they have shown to still have some grip issues (re: spin) he feels that they are doing a good job of responding to rider input.

You ain't kidding, personally I don't care for his personality but I can't lie, as a rider he impresses the shit out me! Even with all the controversy last year, I do think he was the better/faster rider and deserved winning the championship.

Yes, it would have been a better series had he and Rossi been able to go toe to toe but ultimately he was breaking records and setting fast times just about every race in the second half of the season. Was it the Yamaha or his talent? We'll find out next year I guess.

    SPOILER ALERT...SPOILER ALERT...SPOILER ALERT...

Something that seems to have been overlooked...the new MM! Seems he has learned that getting points counts a lot more than risking it for the win. I was a little surprised to see him hop back on after his and Dovi's synchronized crash and finish the race. Sure did get lucky with so many riders crashing, he was at least able to pick up a couple of points. I'm sure Rossi got a big kick out of passing him twice though, with the second time being a lap ahead of him.

Anyway, I wonder if Honda has offered MM an extra bonus if he can bring them another world title this year?! Being that he seems to be the only one on a Honda right now that can bring in a podium finish. At least not without it being handed to them due to other rider crashes.

MM is having to ride the Honda kind of like Stoner did with the Duc. A bucking bronco, loose and moving all around.

The biggest shock would be if Pedro starts winning a bunch of races on the Yamaha.

    Thanks Echo
Just make sure you extend recording times, they like adding coverage of soccer at the beginning or at the end of races.
