Can't comment to some threads, why is that?

Every once in a while, there is a post I find I can not reply to. Looks like it is an import from a mailing list of some sort. So like today, there is one about replacing spark plug wires and spark plugs. I can't do a reply.

Anyway, on that post, has anyone done anything like the Nology Hot Wires? Is there really any difference?

    I've wondered about this too.
I want to feel the love! How do you get included? Does it mean that you have to get assulted with e-mail when a thread starts?

The VFR mailing lest posts get copied to this forum. To reply to those messages you must sign up to receive the mailing list and reply thru that.

Go here: http://pages.cs.wisc.edu/~john/vfr-list/ and there are instructions on how to subscribe/unsubscribe and how to set whether you receive each post or receive a digest of the post made each day. As for the plug wires, I have no experience with that brand and have heard neither good or bad about them.

We need a reply function to that mailing list. It's not practical to just subscribe to it to reply to ONE person.

That reply function would take a little scripting wizardry so the e-mail folks would know it was you, and not just the forum... if the e-mail list owner would allow that type of account-tunneling. I've caught myself a couple of times wanting to reply, but then remember the full-email box cost of subscription. SlowPilot, you might ask the VF/VFR list owner if that was even an option.

It was cool to dig far enough into the mailing list posts to see the gathering tidbits. They've had annual get togethers for awhile.

well, I can drop a message for you if it's a one time deal but the full inbox is definitely in your future should you decide to subscribe. I ignore most of the messages but I have to look at all of them to delete them... oh well. every once in a while you get a gem from it. I got my chase harper saddle bags for like $40 I think... and I got the chain tool for the VFR for $3... not bad...

There is a digest version of the mailing list for those who do not wish to receive each and every email that gets posted to the list. The digest contains all the posts, but also has an index of what is contained in the digest so one can just look at the index to see if there is a thread therein that one wishes to read or follow. And it keeps your inbox from being bombarded by posts.

Hmmm, maybe I'll give that a try. I was so turned off by the email swarm when I did subscribe... I'd given up on mailing lists years ago.

Big nice one? That was an $80 score.

I've got a shiny new chain for the blackbird and no local shops have rental or loaner chain tools.

    Hook a brotha up!!!

No. I wish I got that chain tool. I mean the VFR specific chain tightener. I did find the chain rivet tool for $74 at bikebandit and we get a AMA discount. I e-mailed Tori and Brian about it. We were talking about going together to buy one. I think my friend Chris may be interested in buying in also. With 4 or 5 of us, it's $20 or less which is not too bad. The one form bikebadit is motion pro. Here's a link http://www.bikebandit.com/product/1695

I was also wondering about Harbor Freight. Sometimes you can get decent stuff from them for cheap...

Bummer! I'm probably just going to run it by Thorsen's this week and have them do it. Need to get it up and running again so I can get to work on the VFR suspension.
