Great article. If Vinales goes to Yamaha wonder if he will face the same issues as being #2. Colin was always cool with being #2. But you can't thing that Vinales is going to settle for being #2. Rossi has 2 years left on contract so I would assume by the time Rossi is gone Vinales will be in to his own groove and be moved up to #1 rider.

Has anyone mentioned or heard what happened to Dovi's bike? Poor guy, if he didn't have bad luck he would have any luck. Last I read just said that Ducati was researching the problem but hadn't released the findings

From the MotoGP website, it looked like his water pump gave out and was spraying water on the rear tire.

"We had a problem with the water pump: some water came out and finished on the rear wheel and I almost crashed three times so had to retire."

Dovi's luck this year is really bad. First Crazy Joe takes him out then Pedro then a mechanical.

Vinales would be in a perfect spot to inherit the top spot> I don't think he would have a problem as # 2 for a couple of years. Unless he gets the MM attitude. lol

The young man is smart enough to realize that time is squarely on his side. They all have the MM attitude, it is a requirement. Otherwise, they would be doing track days like the rest of us. lol

If nothing else Jerez clearly demonstrated what happens when the #1 & #2 swap bikes, Rossi was so smooth on the quicker bike

Boring race, great result .....WSB gets more attractive all the time

Not talking about the desire to win all the time. More about how MM did the most aggressive non stop attacking in any GP race in modern times in the second to last race. Rossi was like "WTF!". MM has never done that to anyone like that. Follow, stalk attack and pass sure, but that was just crazy behavior to a 9 time world champion. Sure you can say he just wants to win but in any sport this is an earned degree of respect too. I do believe there was some degree of collusion between JL and MM. Rossi did handle it poorly but I still think that.

Only is they could be like Ryan Dungey, got beat up for years, disrespected, he wasn't aggressive enough....blah blah blah, last race, he so humble, said I got beat, they
were faster, can't win um all....never talks shit and thats the secret......not everyone's going to agree with what you have ta say......keep your comments to your self....sure get pissed and go out and win.
Kind of like Rea, very quiet and just go's out and speaks his mind on the track. Have a little respect and race clean.
    JMO....

Apparently you didn't catch Rae's comments in Parc Ferme regarding Sykes crash after the first race in the last round? Basically he was caught on camera saying Sykes was stupid, he did a stupid move all because he couldn't handle being passed. It wasn't a huge dis, but the commentators sure did pick up on it!

If you watch the end of the 2nd race, when they pull up into Parc Ferme, you can see Rae gesture to the camera men with his index finger "come here!". I think he had a few words for the camera crew for eavesdropping on him after the first race! It was kind of funny. Although I have heard it reported that he has made several comments about his team mate before and there is some tension in the garage but I think that is par for the course.

I pretty much watched that race at around 11:30 after work. I do remember the inside pass and did see Rae gesture to the camera, then the broadcast cut away from Rea. Usually I dont hang around after the top three pull in and get there dat a boys from there teams.

Rea is generally a class act but he has been frustrated by Sykes many times. In one post interview this season where Sykes won he made a brief statement of how Tom kept blocking him for the last 3 laps and could have won otherwise. Then he quickly moved on.

I saw that race too and Sykes pretty much just kept on closing the door on Rae. So did Sykes do his job as a racer or was he being a prick? That would be the question.

Are we really all shocked by Sykes behavior? Didn't he treat Baz the same way? Rea is the bigger man, and will outshine Sykes.

Blocking will always be used as a technique, especially on last turns but if thats all you got left and all your doing to that degree for that long you are forcing the faster rider to do some dangerous attempts. It really was that bad imo.

9 time champion, but none since 2009. You go that long without a championship and your competitors smell blood, you start getting pushed around by the new kids and then it's time to play the respect card. It happens all the time in sport. It's usually the older, past champion, or superstar that does it. Nothing new or historically significant.
