Why carry a gun? Because it' his 2nd amendment right. I always carry and it's always on my person. That way, if I need to bail off the bike in a quick, it's with me and I'm not scrambling for it if I need it. That's just me though, and years of training and experience from a job that requires gun toting.

 

Why does a rider want to have a firearm if he doesn't desire to use it sometime, somewhere with seriously lethal effect ? :disturbed:

Can't help but notice your bike farkles are white much of the time. You may be a bit color blind. It would be counterproductive getting your Viagra and Thorazine mixed up.

 

It's not a problem in Oz. No one carries a gun and everyone feels safe. :smile-new:

 

I don't think any responsible gun carrying person wants to use their gun. There are always anomalies in populations.

 

Your bad guys still carry guns down there. Yes deaths are down since your last crazy man killed all those people and 2 weeks later the legislation was rush through. Suicide by gun is down 80% and no mass shootings but the murder rate by gun did not change much. People still shoot people down under. I wish it was some utopia where everyone holds hands and sings but not so. How about other weapon crimes? Up?........

Oh, I'm not going to get into a debate into gun control as I'd rather talk bikes. If carrying a gun makes you happy - be happy. My biggest worry is forgetting my phone and I like it that way. Same goes for anyone else I know in Oz..... I find it funny there is actually a thread on where to hide your gun!

On the news this morning , bit of a bikie shootup on the other side of town, these are all drug supply related as with all the underworld shootings which is always a good idea because it saves on keeping them locked up. Be better if there was a lot more of this type of shooting. Very few shootings are by genuine Aussies, they are all maffia or Lebanese related

 

My theory is this. 5-10% of any population are crazy and/or antisocial. Give them easy access to guns, the 90% of the rest of us need to carry one too. Gun crimes is Oz are usually the 5% having a beef with someone else in the 5% using illegal guns. Eg. Aggrieved drug dealers.

It's all about risk management, hence my biggest worry is forgetting my phone. Oops. I've just debated gun control!

The reason we have access to guns in the US is because if we didn't, the powers that wuz in England would have sent all those convicts to America instead of OZ. Hence we are crime free, talk funny and drive on the right side of the road.

 

And it has been all over the news out here today, they want to tighten the laws up even more, been 20 years since Port Arthur that brought in the laws

 

Only if you're not educated in using a gun for self-defense. Criminals prey on naive people.
