    Awe.. great Question. there's some folks here that have really logged in the miles. My one trip was just stop for fuel and a bite at the Am-Pms back in the day, actually in 96, I came back from Laguna Seca and said screw it I'm going home, no real stop overs less one rest stop in Weed for 1/2 hour stretch mid way. 914 miles says the meter in just over 13 hours, whew! and today I look back at that milestone and wonder how I did that.

    Oh lord, where is Randy when you need a comment on a LONG trip. Though I can't remember off the top of my head, I think his last major haul was over 8000 miles. As far as distance in one trip non stop, my personal record is 800 km's.

    914 miles in one sitting. Now THAT is impressive. At only 800 km's (500 miles) suddenly I feel so unworthy..LOL

    Randy holds the record for going the wrong way-1000 + miles-just keeps going till the tire burns up. Frozen in motion-with no turns;

    Whoops.. the run from Houston to Seattle and back was on a BMW..

    My longest single day was about 550-600 miles. My longest trip was about 5000 over about two weeks or so when I rode from California to Nashville, out to Tail of the Dragon etc... then back to California.

    Got stopped a couple of times on the Houston to Seattle run. CHP. One officer cut me loose with a warning, the other guy just pulled up along side of me, motioned for me to pull over and had questions aboot the BMW.

    If California ever makes weed legal for entertainment purposes, Weed could become Mecca..sort of...;)

    I have done just under 900 miles on the VFR in one day........would rather be raped in a Turkish prison once more than do that again. Brutal.

    That's funny about Weed. LOL BB, I too used a picnic table to stretch out on doing some yoga, would have been easy to take a nap too there in the warm sunshine and all. But what caught my eye besides having to go pee and the convenience of said rest area was, I also caught a glimpse of a helicopter coming in for a landing, looked to be geared up for the fire season and just as I came to the rest area notice it's right along that little airport no more than just a runway. No big deal guys, 90% of my rides, when there is a ride you can call an adventure are like in the 2-300 mile range, this was just one of those moments, I haven't done anything close to like that after that one.

    Alright. Had to do research cause I haven't had a chance to defrag my head and all is fuzzy.

    In 2012 I did a retirement tour. I was on the bike for 5 weeks and actually did 6791 miles. Chilliwack to Orange County, to San Diego, down to Tecate Mexico and back up to San Diego. Then over to Vegas and broke down. From Vegas to Phoenix for a few days then over to Victorville by way of Palm Springs. From Victorville down to Pamona and then on to Santa Paula. A few days there and back to San Diego. Boogies up to Fresno and then over to Yosemite for a few nights. Back down south to Lompok and then to R3 in Atascadero. Left there and ride straight home stopping for fuel and meals only. Made it from Atascadero California to Bellingham Wa (1096 miles) in 14 hours on the button. Breakfast there then 35 minute ride home. So the last portion of that trip would have qualified for and Iron Butt Challenge but did not sign up.

    2014, three of us went to R3 again and completed a 1000 mile/24 hour Iron Butt Challenge going to. After R3, my travel companions and I parted ways. They were going directly home while I was heading north east. From Atascadero to Victorville, through Vegas to I think Cedar City Utah. Over to Fort Collins Co, then headed north from there. Kinda go a little lost after that but I am sure I was in Nebraska, Wyoming, South and North Dakota. Dodged a tornado there and went to Winnipeg Manitoba, then back across western Canada to home. That was 3 weeks and about 5,000 miles that time.
