Flushed the clutch. Brakes are next. Yay. Did the oil, coolant, spark plugs, and put in a new front cct last week.

Brand new Bridgestone T30 tires and had the shock adjusted correctly. Completely changed the handling of the bike. The shop said my right fork is a little longer than the left one, so I gotta get that fixed. Also, it may need a clutch soon. I'm going to flush the clutch fluid and do an oil change and see if that helps.

You know I would like to believe you but still haven't seen visual proof of this mythical vehicle you claim to own!

On a serious note, did they say what might be the cause of the unequal length forks? Spacer length, spring length/sag?

As far as clutches go, I just replaced my 5 Gen clutch with a Barnett kit and upon inspection of the old plates, looks like I had quite a few burn areas on the OEM steel plates. Although in hind sight, it did appear that I had not changed the oil at the normal interval, so that may have been a contribution of my clutch slippage. However I am the third owner so I didn't know how the previous two owners treated the bike. If I base it on the neglect the guy I bought it from had given it, I feel justified in the replacement. Ironically I did this the same time I had my Ducati suspension rebuilt so I have been test riding that more, so I haven't really got a chance to see how the new clutch is working. Of course the first weekend I can really break away and ride, the rain wants to show up!

Hey Mods, can you rotate the images? They're not that way in my phone.

I see lint, it's all about the wave rotors ;) \

Me, shock install was a breeze. Now I just couldn't handle the look of the rubber boot straps on the mirrors any more, I was looking for what I had on the 4th gen and thought for sure they were 00-01s. When the purchase showed up I see they have oval stocks, Hmm? Mine where round like the F4i, 6th, VTR , interesting. But idle hands as it is, and while I'm still waiting for the suspension from JD to show up, might as well add these and see how I like em, they'll do for now.

The mechanic that changed my tire said he thinks it's internal. Maybe a spacer is longer? It doesn't ride weird, but there was more wear on the right tire side of the old front tire than the left. I guess I need to find someone who can help me out with this. I've never worked on forks before. I know PacificMan from VFRD said he would help me change the fork oil in the past, so I guess I'll see if he is still willing. That or I ride down behind the Orange Curtain and see if OOTV could help me out.

Always willing to lend a hand but finding the time that we can both be available is the hard part. I know if you come down this way, Long will come by and bring us some IPAs!

The length of forks is governed by the contact between the topout on the outside of the cartridge, and a lip on the inside of the upper fork tube.

Unless someone has physically changed the top out spring, or you've got a fork tube from another model, the length is fixed.

Are the forks set to the same height through the triples?
