I wish the US had a channel for motorcycle racing kind of like the NFL channel! BeIn sports is broadcasting Moto GP, WSBK and BSB this year. Fox Sports is also doing Moto GP. CBS Sports is doing Motoamerica(AMA).

Not sure Duc, did you look it up on direct tv?

I was wondering (and the commentators too) if he fried his tires but the lap time were a little slow and I did not think so.

    Yah,

I get my motogp fix from Fox Sports at 4am. I didn't know if there was an NFL type channel or an ESPN type channel for racing

Is Honda making the same mistake they made last year with a too aggressive motor? Whats up with 10th and 13th place Honda? Vinales in 2nd on the Suzuki!

    2016 Qatar **TEST**
The first night of the final 2016 MotoGP test took place at Losail in Qatar on Wednesday.

The injured Danilo Petrucci is the only competitor not present for the third official test, factory test rider Michele Pirro taking his place, while Aprilia is re-joining its rivals after skipping Phillip Island in favour of a private (Losail) test for the new RS-GP.

Reigning world champion Jorge Lorenzo put a tough Phillip Island test behind him, and overcame some stiff opposition from Suzuki star Maverick Vinales, to set the fastest lap time.

Last year's Qatar winner Valentino Rossi fell on his out-lap, but later claimed third on the timesheets.

Ducati's Andrea Iannone was another to feature in P1 on his way to an eventual fourth place, followed on the timesheets by fellow Desmosedici riders Scott Redding, Hector Barbera and Andrea Dovizioso.

Repsol Honda debuted some small winglets on the side of their factory RC213Vs in the hands of test rider Hiroshi Aoyama, on a night when LCR's Cal Crutchlow led the Honda challenge in seventh.

Stefan Bradl was the quickest of the Aprilia riders, in 18th.

Testing took place from 4pm to 11pm, but most waited until after sunset (around 6pm) before taking to the track, then halted testing at 10pm due to dropping temperatures.

Red flags briefly appeared at 9:35pm while checks were made of the track conditions, Crutchlow and Aleix Espargaro having fallen in quick succession, prompting speculation that dew was starting to form.

Testing continues on Thursday and Friday. The season-opening race will then be held at the same circuit from March 17-20...

So the fastest Honda is a second a lap slower than the opposition, doesn't bode well, particularly as the Yamahas are last years bikes, Lorenzo and Rossi both have given up on the 2016 bike for now

Cal is always on the limit of his bike, so no surprise he was one of the first to find the dew was out

Well MM improved his time and looks to be doing better, but if the testing is a litmus as to what to expect, look for MV to be fighting for a place on the podium.

Honda has problems, engine and engine management problems, and those won't get rectified before the start of the season. The combined effect of being behind in algorithm development and a less than rider friendly engine package will put them squarely behind to start the year. This won't be a good year for Honda. It is only testing, but it is obvious that Honda will struggle early on. Need to wait and see what happens under racing conditions over race distance, but right now, it doesn't look very promising.

I agree. My inside sources at Honda tell me the same thing. Many thanks to SOW for sharing.

Any predictions on the forthcoming World Series or The Superbowl?

OK, here is my take. Jorge is going to be quick. he is adjusting to tires very quickly., and I think faster than most riders. Who else will be in the mix is a good question. Honda agreed is having engine issues. It goes back to the mentality of Honda. "We make the best bike, the rider is not the main issue". (Refer to Rossi's book if you disagree). Ducati's only hope to me is iannone. Dovi., just isn't a winner. he is a 2nd or 3rd at best. regarding Suzuki, as much as I believe in Aleix, I think Maverick is the star. Keep an eye on him. Crutch low is a contender for 2nd -5th as long as he can keep it on 2 wheels. Smith is a hunter and should be fighting for 4 or 5, but I don't think Pol will be in the mix. Redding is a mystery to me. I like the guy and I think he can do well, and he seems to like the Duc. Maybe he is the next factory ducati rider? That's all I got on GP. WSBK is a whole other paragraph I will save til later :)

I have a feeling that JL will do his usual get out in front and never look back. I say Iannone and Maverick will be fighting for a place podium and MM will stick his nose in there somewhere. It would be good to see the Suzuki in a real battle.

I think Suzuki will definitely be in the mix this year. MM is going to do what he does and ride the wheels off of it. But the question is can those tires handle his style of riding, and not put him on the ground. He needs to finish good this year, and finishing should be his first priority, but we all know the mentality of MM. Anything less than first is unacceptable . All in all GP should be a great year, lots of contenders who really have a chance at a win or possibly a title. WSBK is going to favor Johnny Rea, but lots of strong riders who want that #1 plate real bad (Chaz, Davide, Sykes, Nicky, Van De MArk, lowest and Guintoli). AMA should be fun too. will Cameron win back to back or is the old dog Hayes going to show him he still has it.
