Does the 2014 vfr 800 chain fit the 2006 vfr 800? It's a 325 chain!

Looking to save some weight over the 530 chain-I would think the stock 2014 325 chain-with I assume a rubber front sprocket would work great and still last real long!:whip:

IMGP0356.jpg IMGP0354.jpg It looks like the stock chain kit is the best, but just tooo heavy. My 520 45 gear rear chain is very good. Maybe going back to stock gearing, but the chain kit I among using is the best in the world.

It's about damn time someone brought this up.

I lost count how many times chain heaviness has been a problem.

It seems to be the one area that's ignored, lighten this, shave that.

My rear kinda floated over some railroad tracks the other day, what was
    my first thought?

    Yep, heavy ass chain!

I lost a race the other day, and the dude even had the audacity to yell at me

"Dude WTF why don't you get a lighter chain!"

So Ima do that 520 trash one better, I am developing an aluminum chain.

Looking for potential investors, SOW lemme know if you got some kitty cash to
throw into the pot, we can get it to market like right quick!

Why don't you just cut to the chase and get a carbon fiber one, you can't get any lighter than those, expensive but light

Form a chain using stretched out pussie penis and allow to dry in the Arizona sun. Light, strong and it makes you bike purr.

The belts are light. They are great until they collect a small rock and the belt shreds. Leaned this from one of the real harleydoods that are still around. Then again this might be just the ticket for SOW.

Just leave 5 litres of free space in the tank and that will be like reducing the chain weight by 3.75kg.
    It's free too.

SOW, where did you get the idea that it uses a 325 chain? (which is a chainsaw chain, from everything I can find)
It uses a 525 chain. And why are you so obsessed about the weight of your chain? You're not racing.

He's barely ever riding either since he only puts 1.5 gallons in the tank or it gets too top heavy for him and falls over

Maybe he should use helium in the tires to make it lighter !!!

If we're thinking about lightening Brian's bike, I'd also suggest making sure that the 1.5 gallons of gas is unleaded. You don't want any of that heavy tetra ethyl lead weighing things down.

Personally, I think the use of a rubber sprocket will make outweigh any concerns about a lighter chain's durability.

Well it looks liker my chain isn;'t even half worn out with around 5,000 on it. It's a 520 with the best chain did on it, saves 2 pds. I guess its good for one more season. IMGP0356.jpg IMGP0354.jpg

5k in a season lol that set will last you 3-4 years with basic maintenance. When you start riding axle deep in saltwater or racking up those miles in days you can come start all the threads you want about pitch and chain longevity and associated minutiae.
