Well at least you get to stay in the will that way. I've really got to take time to get out to my parents place, it's been way too long!

Do so more often. When they are gone, there is a void.

I can't imagine the world where the VFR is gone. That would be horrible.

I really agree with Duc and Randy. Lost my mom many years ago and lost my dad a little over a year ago. But I did get to see them a lot in their later years.

Nice photo of the bike, the green helps set of that beautiful red.

I put new brake pads on the front brakes. First time with the VFR. Fairly easy once you figure out how they are seated.

You should try it with an R1 front end. You dont even need tools. 30 seconds each side, with bare hands :)

its seems the pipe makes it stand out, certainly beats a 2014 in looks and mine also-I believe in the Butus look howvever-too shinny and a bike says pull me over
Red bikes don't last long here-too much crap on the roads

I decided that it was time for some fresh clutch plates. I ordered a set of EBC plates and updated springs, along with a gasket, from Partzilla. As previously, the pricing and turnaround were very decent, and freight to me was very reasonable.

I did the work on the side stand and did not drain the oil, I also did not disconnect the ignition pickup, and just swung the clutch cover out of the way.

As expected the old plates were heavily worn, the steel plates were fine and the basket not badly worn. The bike has done 93009km.

Aside from dropping a dowel into the sump (insert "garage words" here) 'twas a two beer job. Thankfully my magnetic pickup found the dowel after a bit of fishing!

Gear shifts are now so much better. The old clutch pack was non linear and grabby and made smooth launches tricky. For the money ($80 parts) I could not be happier.

Nice, this gets me rethinking pulling the cover and powder coat it a deep bronze. Today I changed it's oil, and looked into the gearing as it acts like it has a 16t counter...nope LOL, 45 rear sprocket, who does that, no wonder my speed is off. SMH.

The only special tool needed to remove the clutch cover is a rubber mallet which is very handy to persuade the old gasket to let go. I just knocked the cover until the sound changes to indicate it has gone loose. No prying required.
