bar risers

looking at increasing bar height to take some weight of my wrists any suggestions very new to vfr only had for 3 days

 

:welcome: to the world! What's your ride? I had Gen Mar bar risers but they didn't help like I wanted. Sold them and bought Helibars. Combined with a Sargent seat I went from hurting inside 50 miles to riding all day.

what size do you do you recommend

 

I bought the tallest, 1.25 inch. He does 3 sizes, but anything smaller wouldnt have made enough difference. I also set the seat at the low position, so my arms sit lower relative to the bars. I did 300ks this morning with no aches or pains. I am about 6 foot 1inch if that helps.

i ended up ordering the 1.25 inch as well a bit of extra height will be fine 10 days to before they arrive

 

I bought the 1.25 when I picked up my 2014 last June. Rode her back from Marshall Texas to Los Angeles and my 6'3 body could not imagine doing that 1600 miles with out them.

Now if I could just get him to make some of these puppies, I could see whats going on behind me :biggrin-new:

 

Has anyone made up some caps to fit inside the raised bars to prevent water build up it was the first thing i noticed after installing my 1.25 risers

did you have to adjust any cables etc to fit the 1.25 inch risers

 

Nope! piece of cake install...two bolts, lift handle bar, insert riser, new bolts.
